What Was The Best Soap Of 2025: General Hospital, Young and Restless, BTG, DAYS or B&B? Vote Now!
Soap fans ate well this year as the various daytime dramas served up heaping plates of romance, heartbreak, suspense, excitement, and more. General Hospital, Young and Restless, Beyond the Gates, Days of Our Lives, and Bold and Beautiful all delivered plenty of storylines that had their fans buzzing. But which soap deserves the most praise for its tantalizing twists and turns? Let us know what you think was the top soap of 2025 in our poll! But first, let’s review the possibilities…
Beyond The Gates
The baby on the soap opera block, BTG came out with guns blazing — both literally and figuratively — in its debut week, which culminated in Dani (Karla Mosley) firing a shot at the wedding of her ex-husband, Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), to his mistress, Hayley (Marquita Goings) — who, in a great twist later in the year, fans learned was actually plotting his demise! Breaking new ground as the first soap to centralize Black characters, the show drew fans in to the messy, moneyed world of Fairmont Crest with a cast that includes proven daytime vets like Tamara Tunie (Anita) and Karla Mosley (Dani) as well as fresh new talent like Ambyr Michelle (Eva) and Trisha Mann-Grant (Leslie).

Bold and Beautiful
B&B began the year with the Forresters regaining control of the family business after Carter’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) ill-advised hostile takeover. Luna (Lisa Yamada) had a roller coaster of a time as she learned Finn (Tanner Novlan) was her biological father, tried to kill Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), was presumed dead, sexually assaulted Will (Crew Morrow), and was then actually killed (maybe) by a speeding car. Liam (Scott Clifton) thought his own life was over until it was revealed that his inoperable brain tumor was just a lie concocted by Grace (Cassandra Creech) to extort money out of his father. But on the bright side, it brought him closer to Hope (Annika Noelle), and they remarried, with Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie (Heather Tom) tying the knot again that same night.

Days of Our Lives
2025 was a landmark year for DAYS in more ways than one. In November, it marked its milestone 60th anniversary, bringing back a bevy of stars, including Maree Cheatham (Marie), Bryan R. Dattilo (Lucas) and Alison Sweneey (Sami), for a celebration of all things Salem. Sadly, the show also said a wrenching good-bye to John Black, played by the late Drake Hogestyn, which was counterbalanced by the long-awaited reunion of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), while the “Who Shot EJ?” mystery and the implosion of Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Xander’s (Paul Telfer) marriage also got fans talking.

General Hospital
It was a packed year on GH! In terms of family drama, the revelation that Gio (Giovanni Mazza) is Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) son happened very publicly on the Nurses’ Ball stage, while Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) custody battle with Michael (Rory Gibson) got ugly, and she dumped Drew (Cameron Mathison) at the altar only to later marry the guy anyway — but not before the much-loathed congressman got shot in the back (twice) one dark and stormy night, and the ensuing whodunit had viewers playing armchair detective with suspects ranging from Curtis (Donnell Turner) to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Port Charles also said a heartbreaking good-bye to the beloved Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson), while the returns of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) from the dead opened up a whole new can of worms, with Anna (Finola Hughes) and others fearing the return of notorious supervillain Cesar Faison.

Young and Restless
Y&R broke Traci’s (Beth Maitland) heart by revealing that her new romance with Alan (Christopher Cousins) was actually with his evil twin, Martin, who had kidnapped Sharon (Sharon Case) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). Many of Genoa City’s high rollers were invited to the French estate of mysterious billionaire Aristotle Dumas, and upon their arrival, learned their host was actually Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa’s (Cait Fairbanks) marriage was dealt a one-two blow when Mariah confessed to attempted murder, and while she was off at therapy, Tessa found herself growing a bit too close to her guitar student, Daniel (Michael Graziadei)! But love was in the air as Danny (Michael Damian) and Christine (Lauralee Bell) remarried and Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc) and Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) celebrated their anniversary. Then, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon’s worry over Noah’s (Lucas Adams) near-fatal car accident intensified when they learned that he’d been sleeping with Sienna (Tamara Braun), the wife of Mitch Bacall, who turned out to be the notorious Matt Clark (Roger Howarth)!
