Sharon Case
As a child growing up in Detroit, MI, Sharon Case had a passion for dance. While in grammar school, she moved to Los Angeles with her family and was discovered at a local modeling event. At the age of 17, she spent five months modeling in Japan. Once back in California, she began taking acting lessons. Her daytime career began on General Hospital, where she played Monica Quartermaine’s long-lost daughter, Dawn Winthrop, from 1989-90. After guest spots on Cheers and Beverly Hills, 90210, she landed on As the World Turns from Debbie Simon in 1992-93. The roles of Bonnie Abigail on Silk Stalkings and Anne Welles on Valley of the Dolls followed.
In 1994, Young and Restless tapped Case to play Sharon Collins, succeeding Monica Potter and Heidi Mark. She became a fan favorite as Sharon’s pairing with Joshua Morrow’s Nick Newman took off. Since joining Y&R, Case has appeared in projects like HBO’s Silicone Wars with David Schwimmer and the feature film Diplomatic Immunities. Her portrayal of Sharon has earned Case multiple Daytime Emmy nominations: two for Outstanding Younger Actress, three for Outstanding Supporting Actress, and one for Outstanding Lead Actress. She took home the trophy in the Supporting category in 1999. In 1998, she received the Soap Opera Digest Award for Hottest Female Actress.
