General Hospital Recap: Nina Gets New Hope as the Walls Close in on Ava
On General Hospital on Tuesday, October 27, Nina (Cynthia Watros) got a glimmer of hope, Sonny (Maurice Benard) professed his innocence to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) gave Joe (Jonathan Bennett) the green light to investigate Ava’s (Maura West) possible connection to Jack’s (Chris McKenna) disappearance, Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) gave Rocco (Finn Carr) an ultimatum, Curtis (Donnell Turner) prioritized his freedom over holding a grudge with Portia (Brook Kerr), and more. Here’s everything that happened.
Missing Persons
Baines stopped by the PCPD to tell Dante that, in light of Lulu’s article, the WSB was revisiting the investigation into Jack Brennan’s disappearance and warned that local police should stay out of it.
Later, Joe told Dante he had questions of his own about Brennan. Suspecting there was more to Jack’s disappearance than Baines had let on, Dante authorized opening a case file despite Baines’s earlier warning. Joe then shared his belief that Ava was somehow involved.

The Price of Freedom
Drew approached Portia about working together to help Curtis’s appeal via The Banner interview, but she balked at getting involved in anything related to him. Later, she questioned Curtis about trusting Drew, but Curtis was willing to work with his former friend if it meant securing his release.
Portia agreed to help, but wanted assurance that Curtis would respect her relationship with Isaiah and his place in Desmond’s life. With a sigh, Curtis replied that he was willing to give her those assurances.

Person of Interest
At G.H., Ava told Lucas that Joe had questioned her about Brennan’s disappearance and asked her nephew to put in a good word for her with his roommate. Lucas didn’t want to interfere with Joe’s work, but thought it would be a good idea to get Joe on the right track since he was so interested in Brennan’s case.
Baines then cornered Ava by the elevator bank to ask about her spending time with Jack the last night he was seen in Port Charles. Before Ava could respond, Portia intervened and shut down any further questions. Baines warned Ava that she’d hear from the WSB soon.

Portia questioned Ava’s recent involvement with Drew, noting that he couldn’t be trusted. When Portia said Drew must have an ulterior motive for helping Curtis, Ava flashed back to learning that Curtis had been collateral damage in the attack they’d orchestrated on Sidwell. Ava told Portia she and Drew had found common ground in wanting to protect their daughters, but Portia warned her to watch her back around him.
Meanwhile, when Lucas tried to get Joe to back off from questioning Ava further about Brennan, Joe realized that Ava had told her nephew about their conversation. Seeing that as a major red flag, Joe told Lucas there was now an active case open — and that Ava had been the last person with Brennan.

The Blame Game
Sonny tracked down Alexis at her office to confront her about staying silent after the Pentonville attacks. She didn’t want to know if he was behind the assault on Curtis and Sidwell but offered her sincere hope that he was innocent. Sonny appreciated that she was willing to consider the possibility and declared that he would prove his innocence.
Gio visited Curtis and shared his theory that Sonny might have been framed for the attack. Although Curtis remained convinced that Sonny was responsible, he respected Gio for defending his grandfather. Curtis didn’t want the animosity between him and Sonny to affect Gio’s creative partnership with Trina, so he said he wouldn’t tell Trina that Gio had questioned him about the attack.

Afterwards, Gio dropped by Dante’s office and caught up with his father for the first time since the argument at Sonny’s house. Dante was glad to hear Gio had moved out of Sonny’s house, but Gio wondered if they were too quick to determine that Sonny was guilty, especially since Sonny was so heartbroken that nobody believed him. But Dante worried Gio would be the one left heartbroken once he realized that Sonny had lied to them all.
The Break-Up Artist
Danny went ballistic when he walked into the stables and saw Rocco and Scout kissing. He accused Rocco of taking advantage of his sister, starting another fight between the boys with Scout stuck in the middle. Hurt by her brother’s reaction, Scout ran out, late to meet Drew.

Danny threatened to expose Rocco and Scout’s secret relationship to Drew, but when Rocco pointed out that would only hurt Scout, Danny agreed to keep quiet — if Rocco ended the relationship. With that, Danny stormed out of the stables, leaving a tormented Rocco to weigh his options.
Ghosts of the Past
When Scout joined her dad at the Port Charles Grill, Drew could tell something was bothering his daughter and assumed it was the approaching anniversary of Sam’s death on Halloween. An emotional Scout opened up about the day her mom passed away, and how it ruined Halloween for her. Drew told his daughter to think of a happy Halloween memory instead, because Sam would want the holiday to bring Scout joy.

Following her encounters with Baines and Portia at the hospital, Ava went to the Grill. When she sat at the bar, she spotted Drew and Scout reminiscing about Sam at their table. Taking out her phone, Ava called Alexis and declared that she was collecting on a favor.
Our Apologies
In a WSB holding site, Baines entered a secure room and sat down at a table. “Apparently, we may have rushed to judgment,” he admitted to the prisoner, who was revealed to be Nina, handcuffed to the table and looking disheveled.

Is Baines going to release Nina? Should Rocco break up with Scout? Will Ava turn on Drew before he turns on her? Let us know what you thought about the latest episode of GH in the comments below, along with your predictions for what will happen next!
