Meet The New Guy

Jordan Woolley (Nick Kasnoff)
First Air Date: December 27, 2005
Hometown: West Long Branch, NJ
Experience: "Six years, on and off, with the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute."
Character Background: Mike's heretofore unmentioned cousin. "When they were kids, they were pretty much best friends," explains Mark Collier (Mike). "He's got that hero-protective thing like Mike, but his moral compass is a little worse. He's not a complete bad boy; he's still the protector and a cop, but I'd say he's the troublemaking Kasnoff. There's enough physical similarities between us where you're not going, 'Wait a second....' Terri [Colombino, Katie] would say that we have a similar smile, but he's a lot taller than me [laughs]."

How did you get the job? Was it a tough process? "It was a great process. I went and met with Mary Clay [Boland, casting director]. I had about two auditions and then came in for the screen test."

Nick and Margo (Ellen Dolan)
— PGP

Did you test with Maura (West, Carly)? "I tested with Maura and Terri, so it was nice."

How did that go? "It was great. I loved every moment of it."

Did they have you do a kissing scene? "Almost."

What do you think of Nick? "He's awesome. He's got so many different colors to his character, so it's a lot for me to play with, and it will keep everybody guessing about what he's like, what he's doing."

Why is he there? "He's cousins with Mike."

But he hasn't shown up before now. "[laughs] No, but he just came to town to see his cousin and see what's going on."

Was it hard to adjust to daytime work? "I'll tell you one thing: The other actors have made it so much easier for me to get into the character. And of course, if I may make mistakes, we grow with it and let the character evolve. This is my third week, and you've just got to keep rolling with it. This past week-and-half, I've gotten better at it. It's all trial and error. Michael [Park, Jack] is the man. He has been a very big help. I enjoy everything he brings to the set and off-set as well."

He's probably gonna punk you soon. "[laughs] I'm lookin' forward to it!"
