Kate Linder

After graduating from college, Kate Linder began working as a flight attendant while also pursuing acting, landing roles on series like Archie Bunker’s Place and Bay City Blues. In 1982, she was cast on Young and Restless as Katherine’s maid, Esther Valentine, and her one-day appearance turned into a role that has since lasted decades (even as she also maintained her flight attendant job!). Linder was married to her husband, Dr. Ronald L. Linder, from February 14, 1976, until his death from ALS in 2017. The actress is active with many charitable organizations, including the ALS Association.
