General Hospital’s Jane Elliot, DAYS’s James Reynolds Among Honorees at 2025 Daytime Emmys
With the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards fast approaching, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is putting the finishing touches on this year’s ceremony. That includes a host and naming the Gold and Silver Circle inductees. Plus, they have announced that fans will be able to buy tickets to the 2025 Daytime Emmys to attend in person.
Winners Circle
The Gold and Silver Circle honors professionals who have “performed distinguished service within the television industry, setting standards for achievement, mentoring, leadership, and professional accolades for 50 or 25 years, respectively.” This year’s 2025 Gold Circle inductee will be veteran actress Jane Elliot, who made her daytime debut on the ABC soap A Flame in the Wind back in 1965. Although best known for her Daytime Emmy Award-winning work as Tracy Quartermaine on General Hospital, Elliot has also played Carrie Todd on Guiding Light, Cynthia Preston on All My Children, and Anjelica Deveraux on Days of Our Lives during her storied career.
The 2025 Silver Circle inductees include some notable soap names. First is James Reynolds, who has been playing Abe Carver on DAYS since 1981 (save for a break in the early 1990s to portray Henry Marshall on Generations), and earned a Daytime Emmy in 2018 as Outstanding Lead Actor. Next is Young and Restless vet Kate Linder, who debuted as Esther Valentine back in 1982. Also being honored this year is casting director Judy Blye Wilson, who has earned multiple Daytime Emmy Awards for her work on AMC and Y&R, and has also worked in the casting department for One Life to Live and Ryan’s Hope.
Host With the Most
NATAS has also announced that this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards show will be hosted by Mario Lopez, who daytime fans may remember from his 2006 stint as Dr. Christian Ramirez on Bold and Beautiful. The actor also has experience hosting and has taken home Daytime Emmys in the past for his work as one of the hosts of Extra.
This year’s Daytime Emmy Awards is also collaborating with Access Hollywood, which will offer up five nights of Daytime Emmys segments beginning on Monday, October 13, and continuing all week until the big show the evening of Friday, October 17. Access Hollywood will also feature special coverage of the 2025 Daytime Emmys in its Monday, October 20, show.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Access Hollywood and having Mario Lopez host this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards,” said Adam Sharp, President & CEO of NATAS. “As a beloved figure in daytime television himself, Mario brings the perfect blend of energy, familiarity, and star power to the stage. We’re also honored to celebrate this year’s Gold and Silver Circle Honorees — television professionals whose dedication and exceptional talent have shaped the landscape of Daytime storytelling. Finally, we’re excited to be able to open the doors to Daytime fans after years of requests for an in-person audience.”
Be a Part of the Action
For the first time since 2018, NATAS is also making a limited number of tickets to the Daytime Emmy Awards available for purchase by the public. Fans will have the opportunity to attend the annual celebration of the best in daytime television alongside their favorite soap stars. The ceremony will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, and tickets are currently on sale for $75 each exclusively through Ticketmaster.
