Young and Restless Star Kate Linder To Honor Late Mom’s 100th Birthday

On Saturday, November 23, Kate Linder, a star of Young and Restless for over 42 years in the role of Esther Valentine, will host a celebration in loving memory of her mother, Molly Wolveck, an artist who passed away last year. The event is titled The Art & Life of Molly Wolveck and will raise funds for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. To honor Wolveck and her passion for finding a cure for ALS, a large collection of her art will be on display and available for purchase.
From The Heart
Linder became a celebrity spokesperson and ambassador for ALS and ALS Network in 2004, after her late brother-in-law Scott Buzzell, who passed in 2013, was diagnosed with ALS. The actress and her late husband, Dr. Ron Linder, and their families, including Wolveck, were determined to do everything they could to find a cure. Linder has been fundraising, raising awareness and lobbying Congress for ALS Network, which is dedicated to finding treatments and a cure for the insidious disease, for two decades now.
“I am so very grateful to the ALS Network for joining me in honoring my mother, Molly Wolveck, on her 100th birthday,” Linder tells Digest. “I’m thrilled that everyone will be able to see what an accomplished artist she was while also allowing her to continue contributing to the ALS Network posthumously, as she herself did annually in her life. This is a win-win situation for both this amazing charity and for the memory of my mom. I am so very proud to be celebrity ambassador for the ALS Network and I know my mom would have loved that her art exhibit will benefit the charity that meant so much to her, to my late husband and his family, and to me.”
The reception and art sale will be held at the 9176 Gallery, located at 9176 Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, east of SoHo House, between 2-6 p.m. You can RSVP to Justin by sending him an email at jwieging@alsnetwork.org and if you are interested in making a general donation, please click here. The gallery space is generously donated by local Southern California developer Faring. All proceeds benefit ALS Network. To learn more about ALS, click here.
