It's softball season in Port Charles, and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) are on opposing teams. When the PCPD faces off with the hospital staff, will the newfound closeness between Liz and Dante deepen, or will their friendship get knocked out of the park?

Carly's (Laura Wright) feelings were hurt when she found out through the grapevine that her Jason (Steve Burton) was back in town after his ordeal in the WSB prison in Jakarta as opposed to hearing the big news from Jason himself. This week, though, she will get some quality time with her BFF.

Oh yes it's ladies' night — and Emma (Braedyn Bruner, left), Trina (Tabyana Ali, center) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) are spending it at the Metro Court pool deck. A lot has happened in the lives of these three young women since the last time they were in the same place at the same time. Will they clash or find common ground?

Molly (Kristen Vaganos, left) and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) are both looking a little alarmed. Are they disagreeing about something or reacting to a family matter — such as the fate of Scout's father, Drew, who Nina pushed into the lake on the show's Friday cliffhanger?

Y&R teasers preview that Audra (Zuleyka Silver, l.) celebrates a win, but is Sally (Courtney Hope) also part of this victory? Might they have found an alternative to selling the Newman Media part of Spectra-Charles to Adam? Or is Audra the only one with something to celebrate?

Adam (Mark Grossman) convinced Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) that secretly buying Newman Media back from Sally was the best solution to a difficult situation. The problem was executing the sale behind Victor’s back, and teasers promise that the Newman patriarch is going to hold Adam and Chelsea accountable for their actions.

Billy (Jason Thompson) and Sally (Courtney Hope) are expecting a baby, but there are some major roadblocks popping up that could prevent them from playing happy families in the future. According to the teasers, the pair are keeping secrets from each other, and on soaps, secrets have a way of coming out — at the worst possible time.

Could the secret that Billy is keeping from Sally have something to do with his conversation with Victoria (Amelia Heinle)? Were the exes discussing their kids or some delicate business matter?

Susan (Stacy Haiduk) pays a visit to EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), but will her psychic powers give her a clue as to any of the nefarious things that her son has been up to recently?

As a dying Lexie (Nikki Crawford) prepares to take Kristen's place when she's abducted by EJ's goons, she wants her last moments with Abe (James Reynolds, r.) and Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) to be special. Which means making up for all the time she was presumed dead, including Christmases.

Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) is menaced by one of EJ's henchmen to ship her off to DiMera Island. She'd planned for Lexie to take her place at the last minute, but will they be able to pull off the switcheroo, or might this be the last Salem sees of Kristen for quite some time?

Holly (Ashley Puzemis, l.) has been furious that no one believes that she's not taking drugs, especially her aunt, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). Will Sarah finally come around to believing and trusting her niece?

Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip's (John-Paul Lavoisier) relationship has been in a rough spot lately, with all the business trouble at Titan and the counterfeit Gabi Chic merchandise. But it looks like these two may have finally worked things out.

Having played Nikki for a remarkable 47 years, there is no question that Melody Thomas Scott (r.) owns the role. But prior to Thomas Scott being hired in 1979, the character was actually played by another actress, Erica Hope, who began on the show in 1978. Hope had been let go abruptly after clashing with castmates backstage. "I was an emergency recast and they needed a new Nikki pronto," Scott recalled to Soap Opera Digest in 2023.

When the character of Jill Abbott was introduced back in 1973, she was played by Brenda Dickson (l.). Bond Gideon stepped in briefly in 1980, then Deborah Adair took over the role until 1983, when Dickson returned. Then, in 1987, Jill was recast once again, this time with Jess Walton (r.), who had been playing Kelly Harper on CBS sudser Capitol. “The day Brenda was let go, Bill [Bell, Y&R’s late head writer/executive producer] said, ‘We don’t have a Jill!’ and someone said, ‘What about Jess?’” the actress recalled to Digest in 2015. “They called immediately. I never had to audition or read… I got the job in the afternoon and I started the next morning.” During her decades on Y&R, Walton’s performances as Jill have earned her two Daytime Emmy Awards.

Terry Lester (l.) had made such an indelible impression on viewers during his 1980-89 run as Jack Abbott that when he left, the soap struggled to find a replacement. Seeing that Peter Bergman had recently been let go from All My Children, where he had been playing Cliff Warner for a decade, Melody Thomas Scott suggested him to the higher-ups at Y&R. “Initially, I was not interested,” Bergman shared with Digest back in 2013. “Replacing somebody who was an iconic presence on the show is so risky.” But multiple Daytime Emmy Award nominations and four wins prove that Bergman was wise to ultimately sign on as Jack.

After brief turns from Monica Potter (l.) and Heidi Mark in 1994, the third time was the charm when Y&R recast the role of Sharon with Sharon Case (r.), who had previously played Dawn on General Hospital and Debbie on As the World Turns. "There was pressure on me to succeed because they had already recast the role," Case noted to Digest in 2013. In addition to creating a daytime supercouple with co-star Joshua Morrow (Nick), she has earned multiple Daytime Emmy nominations and took home the Outstanding Supporting Actress trophy in 1999.

Alex Donnelley originated the role of Diane Jenkins in 1982, left in 1984, visited in 1986 and returned full-time in 1996. Then, in 2001, the role was recast with Susan Walters, who told Digest in 2023 that she'd been oblivious to how fans felt about the switch ("The beauty back then was the Internet wasn’t really accessible, so it wasn’t in your face if people didn’t like you as a replacement"). Walters left in 2004, and Maura West (now Ava, GH) took over the role from 2010-11, but in 2022, Walters stepped back into Diane's shoes.

Victoria was born on-screen in 1982 and played by young actresses, most notably Ashley Nicole Millan, in her youth before Heather Tom (now Katie on Bold and Beautiful, l.) assumed the part in 1991. The Daytime Emmy winner exited in 2003, and in 2005, the soap recast Victoria with Amelia Heinle (r.), who had previously played Steffi on Loving and The City on Mia on AMC. “When I heard about the job, I thought, ‘I can’t do that because Heather is really good and she is completely opposite from me,’" Heinle admitted to Digest in 2023. She went on to win two Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her work as Victoria.

When Patty Williams was first introduced in 1980, the role was briefly played by Tammy Taylor (l., with Terry Lester as Jack)) before Lilbet Stern took over. In 1983, the role was recast again with Andrea Evans, best known as Tina Lord on One Life to Live, who remained until 1984. The character returned with an assumed name (Mary Jane) and a new look from reconstructive surgery in 2009 in the form of Stacy Haiduk (r., with Peter Bergman as Jack), fresh from a turn as Hannah on AMC. Haiduk told Digest in 2023 that she didn't have any trepidation about being a recast — because she didn't know she was one! "They didn't tell me the character's name, so I didn't know who Patty was," she chuckled.

After a series of child actors, including Darcy Rose Byrnes from 2003-07, Abby Newman was aged into a teen played by Hayley Erin (who went on to play GH’s Kiki before returning to Y&R as Claire) in 2008. Emme Rylan (l.) stepped in from 2010-13, and when she left to play Lulu on GH, Melissa Ordway (r.) succeeded her. The actress admitted she felt great pressure coming in as a recast "because Emme was so fabulous in the role and was such a fan favorite. You also don’t want to copy what they were doing, because you’ll never do it as well as that person, so I tried to figure out on my own who Abby Newman really is to me."

The character of Billy Abbott was born in 1993 and was played by a series of child actors before being aged to a teen in 1999 when David Tom stepped in. Upon his exit in 2002, Ryan Brown took over for a year and Scott Seymour for just a few months. In 2008, the role was recast with Billy Miller, who earned two Daytime Emmy Awards for Supporting Actor and one for Lead Actor. When he left in 2014 to take over the role of Jason on GH (his character was later revealed to be Jason's twin brother, Drew), Tom briefly reprised the role in 2014 before Burgess Jenkins played Billy from 2014-16. Then Jason Thompson, who had been playing Patrick Drake on GH, stepped into the Abbott heir's shoes. "It’s going to be nerve-wracking," Thompson told Digest in 2015 as he prepared to assume the role. "There are a lot of guys who have played this character and one of them did it for a number of years, Billy [Miller, now GH’s Jason].... It’s going to be hard to fill his shoes." In 2020, Thompson won a Daytime Emmy of his own (for Lead Actor) for playing Billy in 2020.

For the first three years after Kyle Abbott’s birth in 2001, the role was played by various toddlers, but when the character was reintroduced to the canvas in 2010, he was played by child actor Garrett Ryan. In 2012, Kyle was aged into an adult and recast with Blake Hood. After a year, he was replaced with Hartley Sawyer, and in 2015, Lachlan Buchanan assumed the part for just over a year. Kyle returned again in 2018, now played by Michael Mealor, who got some great advice from TV dad and fellow recast Peter Bergman. “He said, ‘Everyone is going to tell you who Kyle is, and they will all have an opinion on who Kyle should be, but make the character your own!’” Mealor told Soaps In Depth in 2018.

When Nate Hastings was born back in 1995, the boy was played by a series of child actors before returning to Genoa City in 2011 as an adult for a brief turn by Walter Fauntleroy. The doctor returned full-time in 2018, played by Brooks Darnell, but the role was recast in April 2019 with Sean Dominic. Dominic told Soaps in Depth at the time that he wasn't tripped up by assuming a role other actors had played, noting, “I wanted to bring a fresh light to the character, to create him and take him on a journey.”

Adam Newman was played by various child actors from his birth in 1995 until leaving Genoa City two years later. When the character returned to the canvas in 2008 as an adult, Chris Engen was playing Victor and Hope’s son. After a year, the role was recast with Michael Muhney (l.), who remained with the soap until 2014, when Justin Hartley took over through 2016. Then, in 2019, Adam was reintroduced with actor Mark Grossman (r.) in the role. “The audience knows him from the different people who have portrayed him and they each brought something special to the role,” Grossman mused to Digest at the time."

Cane Ashby was portrayed by Daniel Goddard from his introduction in 2007 until his 2019 exit. In 2025, it was announced that Billy Flynn, who had been playing Chad on Days of Our Lives since 2014, would be joining the cast of Y&R as the mysterious new character Aristotle Dumas. But upon his debut, it was quickly revealed that was just an alias that Cane had created for himself. Of taking over Goddard's role, Flynn told TV Insider in 2025, "I’m not Australian and I’m a bit younger. What Daniel did was amazing — he was great as Cane — and obviously, the relationship that Cane and Lily had is a testament to their work. "

Following a series of child actors, Kevin Schmidt was cast as a teenaged Noah Newman in 2008. The role was recast in 2010 with Luke Kleintank, though he only appeared in a handful of episodes before Schmidt returned on a recurring basis. The role was recast again in 2012 with Robert Adamson playing Sharon and Nick’s son until 2018. He reprised the role for a couple of brief stints in 2020 before Rory Gibson (now GH’s Michael) took over in 2021 and remained with Y&R until 2023. In 2025, Noah was reintroduced, now played by Lucas Adams, who had previously played the role of Tripp on DAYS.

Eddie Cibrian kicked off Matt's reign of terror from 1994-96, and when the character returned in 2000, he was briefly played by Russell Lawrence. Then Rick Hearst, who had earned his soap stripes as Scotty Banning on DAYS and Alan-Michael Spaulding on Guiding Light (for which he'd won a Daytime Emmy), was brought on as Matt, playing the role from 2000-01. Matt infamously yanked out his own breathing tube in the hospital to frame Nick for his "murder," yet miraculously survived so that Roger Howarth, a Daytime Emmy-winning alum of ATWT (ex-Paul), GH (ex-Todd, ex-Franco, ex-Austin) and OLTL (ex-Todd) could take on the part in 2025.

Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) has made it clear that he's going to fight Lulu for joint custody of their daughter, Charlotte, so does he think that Laura (Genie Francis) might be able to help his cause? Laura would naturally side with her daughter over the Cassadine, but perhaps she could find a way for Lulu and Valentin to eventually reach an amicable agreement?

Nina (Cynthia Watros) may have been taken aback when Jack (Chris McKenna) showed his gratitude with a passionate kiss, but from this smile on her face, it's clear she's not mad that it happened. With the sparks that these two are setting off, who will get burned?

Stella (Vernee Watson, l.) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) are holding a meeting at the hospital, and from their expressions, it isn't going completely smoothly. Are they welcoming Dr. Tristan Rogers to the staff and giving him the lay of the land? Or perhaps meeting with Britt about her returning to her job at G.H.?

Y&R teasers preview that Nick (Joshua Morrow, c.) is determined to make sure that Matt (Roger Howarth, r.) is held accountable for his past crimes. Noah (Lucas Adams) has also been upset to see Matt walking around Genoa City a free man, so might he join his father in making the villain pay?

Kyle (Michael Mealor) wants nothing more than to make Victor pay for what he’s done to the Abbott family. Teasers say that he and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) exchange secrets, so might she give Kyle some ammunition that he can use against her father? And how might Victoria apply what she learns from Kyle?

As Jack (Peter Bergman) continues to recover at home following Patty’s attempt on his life, teasers indicate that Diane (Susan Walters) will be by her husband’s side helping him get better step by step. As Jack heals from his stab wounds, will his marriage to Diane be healed as well?

Traci (Beth Maitland) would do anything for her family, and the teasers preview that she’s going to take a huge risk to help the Abbotts. But is Diane asking her sister-in-law to do something dangerous, or is Traci offering to put herself in jeopardy?

Matt has been turning on the charm with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), but while intrigued, she’s been keeping him at arms length. Teasers indicate that she’s going to be keeping tabs on the seemingly reformed villain, so it would seem that Phyllis’s opinion of Matt still hasn’t changed too much. Can he win her over?

Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) haven't seen each other since he returned to Port Charles with Lulu and Rocco, but their conversation appears to be a serious one. Are they discussing his family conflicts or is she still nursing doubts about a possible link between Drew and Brennan's strokes despite Jack's efforts to explain his condition away?

Especially as her due date draws near, Portia (Brook Kerr, r.) doesn't need any unexpected stress. When Jordan (Tanisha Harper) shows up on her doorstep, though, the odds that the two women can keep their interaction civil seem slim, given the legal conflict brewing between Jordan's live-in love/Portia's baby daddy, Curtis, and Portia's current squeeze/Jordan's former lover, Isaiah.

Josslyn had an agenda of her own to push — specifically, trying to break up Carly and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) — when she dispatched Valentin to deliver a message for her to Anna (Finola Hughes). The former lovers certainly look cozy here, but will whatever unresolved feelings Valentin has for Anna actually prompt him to call things off with his new paramour?

Cody's (Josh Kelly) normally lighthearted mood appears to have taken on a darker hue, despite the presence of his girlfriend, Molly (Kristen Vaganos). Perhaps that has to do with the show's official teasers revealing that Cody has to deliver some bad news.

Daphne (Murielle Hilaire, r.) has been trying to have a baby with her husband, Carter, but so far, has not been able to get pregnant. Now, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is by her friend's side as she goes to the hospital in search of some answers.

Judging from the expression on Li's (Naomi Matsuda) face, it would appear that the news Daphne is going to receive isn't very good. Has Daphne's dream of starting a family with Carter hit an insurmountable obstacle?

Now that Electra (Laneya Grace) is on the outs with Will, RJ (Brayan Nicoletti) seems more than happy to take advantage of the situation and offer her an alternative — himself. But while Electra has been urged to sever all ties with the Spencer scion, can she really cut Will out of her heart for good?

On the other side of the love quadrangle, Dylan (Sydney Bullock) is lending Will (Crew Morrow) a sympathetic ear. She's pushed down her own feelings for Will so as not to further damage her friendship with Electra, but might they start bubbling back up now that he's single again?

Diane (Susan Walters, far l.) and Kyle (Michael Mealor, l.) visit Jack (Peter Bergman) in the hospital, where Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott, c.) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) are already at his bedside. Teasers indicate that Jack and Diane are going reconnect, so hopefully they can finally put this whole nightmare behind them.

Matt (Roger Howarth, l.) claims to be trying to make a fresh start in Genoa City and put his dastardly deeds behind him. But according to the teasers, he’s still stirring the pot for Noah (Lucas Adams) and Sienna (Tamara Braun). Has Matt really changed for the better, or is that darkness still inside, just waiting for the right time to come out?

Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) parents remain concerned about his sobriety, with Victor (Eric Braeden) not wanting his son to return to work at Newman until he’s on more solid ground. Might Sharon (Sharon Case) be able to help Nick with his struggles and keep him on the right path?

Teasers say that Lily (Christel Khalil) is worried about her brother, Devon, but she appears pretty happy sitting at the GCAC bar having a drink with Cane (Billy Flynn). Perhaps he’s found a way to help take her mind off her problems?

Now that Newman Enterprises is back in the hands of the family, Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) are eager to get back to work. Adam wasn't on board with Victor’s plan to go after Spectra-Charles and turn it back into Newman Media, but this week, both he and Chelsea are in the hot seat when Sally accuses them of stealing her company.

Brittany Allen, who played Marissa Tasker on AMC from 2009-11, is nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for the role of Roxie Hamler, a patient with terminal cancer, in the second season of HBO Max’s The Pitt. She earned an Outstanding Younger Actress Daytime Emmy Award in 2011 for her portrayal of Marissa.

David Harbour, who played the recurring role of Officer Shanks on ATWT from 1999-2001, is nominated in two Emmy Award categories for HBO's DTF St. Louis: Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie for playing Floyd Smernitch and Outstanding Limited Series for being one of the show’s producers. Harbour previously received Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Emmy nominations in 2017 and 2018 for his work as Jim Hopper on Netflix’s Stranger Things.

Allison Janney, who began her TV career as Ginger (one of the Spaulding family maids) from 1993-95, is up for for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work as President Grace Hagen on Netflix’s The Diplomat. Janney has racked up numerous Primetime Emmy nominations over the years, taking home four Supporting Actress in a Drama Series trophies for The West Wing, one Guest Actress in a Drama Series for Masters of Sex, and both a Supporting and Lead Actress in a Comedy Series award for Mom.

Jeff Kober, who played Cyrus Renault on GH, is up for his first Primetime Emmy with a nomination in the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series category for his portrayal of Duke Ekins on The Pitt. Kober has already won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2022 for his work during his 2020-25 run on GH.

Tom Pelphrey, who previously played Jonathan Randall on GL from 2003-09 and Mick Dante on As the World Turns from 2009-10, is nominated this year for the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Emmy Award for his work as Robbie Pendergrast in the HBO Max series Task.  Pelphrey was previously nominated in the same category in 2021 for his role as Ben Davis on Netflix’s Ozark and took home two Daytime Emmy trophies for Outstanding Supporting Actor during his time on GL.

Cherry Jones started out playing Frankie on Loving from 1991-92, and is nominated in 2026 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Kelly Kilpatrick in an episode of Hacks. Cherry has received multiple Primetime Emmy Awards over the years. She took home the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series trophy in 2009 for playing Allison Taylor on 24, Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series in 2019 for her performance as June’s mother, Holly, on The Handmaid’s Tale, and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series in 2020 for playing Nan Pierce in Succession.
