Rebecca Herbst
- Shows: General Hospital
At just six years old, Rebecca Herbst informed her mother that she wanted to be on television so she could play with the toys. Before long, the Encino, CA, native had appeared in more than 60 national commercials, the first of which was for Banner toilet paper. A competitive figure skater, she juggled her acting career with her athletic training until she decided at 16 to focus on performing. Herbst became a central part of the daytime landscape when she originated the role of General Hospital’s Elizabeth Webber in 1997. She has earned three Daytime Emmy Award nominations (one for Outstanding Younger Actress, two for Outstanding Supporting Actress) and a Soap Opera Digest Award for her portrayal of the beloved heroine.
In addition to her work on GH, Herbst has appeared on shows such as Highway to Heaven, Step By Step, Boy Meets World and Space Cases, starred alongside Jaclyn Smith in the television movie Kaleidoscope and co-starred as Playmate Barbi Benton in the film Hefner: Unauthorized. Herbst is a longtime supporter of the Smile Train, a charity that provides surgery for children born with cleft lips and palates. She married former GH co-star Michael Saucedo (ex-Juan) in 2001. The couple has three children, Ethan, Ella, and Emerson.
