Jason Thompson

Native Canadian Jason Thompson was discovered as a teen by a modeling scout and began his career in runway, print, and commercials, including a well-known series of ads for The Gap. He soon was able to pursue his passion for acting and landed roles in series like Flipper, Undressed, and Felicity as well as movies like Wishmaster 4: The Prophecy Fulfilled. In December 2005, Thompson joined the cast of General Hospital as Dr. Patrick Drake, the son of Rick Springfield’s popular character, Dr. Noah Drake. The actor’s performances earned him five Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor before Thompson exited the show. Patrick left Port Charles in January 2016 with his wife, Robin, and their daughter, Emma.

Thompson himself then moved to Genoa City, taking over the role of Billy Abbott on Young and Restless in January 2016. His Y&R work has garnered him three additional Daytime Emmy Award nods, and he took home the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor in 2020. During his time on the soaps, Thompson has also moonlighted with guest appearances in prime-time series like Castle and 90210 and is the co-founder of Rancho West Beer. He also plays proud papa to his children with wife, Paloma Jonas: son Bowie (b. May 2016) and daughter Rome (b. September 2017).
