Kanan issued this statement: "I take this situation very seriously. I have been working incredibly hard on creating positive changes in my life. I would never knowingly neglect a court date nor any conditions placed on me by the court system."

Daytime legend Beverlee McKinsey died from complications due to a kidney transplant on May 2. During her soap career, McKinsey starred on ANOTHER WORLD as poor farm woman Emma Frame in 1972 and haughty villainess Iris Carrington from 1972-80. She played the same character in the spin-off TEXAS from 1980-81, receiving star billing. The actress also starred on GUIDING LIGHT as the original Alexandra Spalding from 1984-92. GL's Tina Sloan (Lillian) recalls to Soap Opera Digest, "I just think of Beverlee in her long, pink gown at Beth and Phillip's wedding with her beautiful blonde hair, blue eyes and her wonderful life force. She was always so, even in her delivery, no matter what she said — she always said it with such intensity and charm. Beverlee was such a professional and had such presence. She was a brilliant actress, a wonderful mother and a good friend. Everyone who knew her will miss her dearly." For more on McKinsey, check out an upcoming Digest.
