Mishael Morgan began her acting career with roles in Canadian series like The Best Years and Family Biz, as well as films like Casino Jack and Total Recall. In June 2013, the actress made her daytime debut as Hilary Curtis on Young and Restless, earning two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress before the character was killed off in July 2018. Then, in September 2019, Morgan returned to Y&R as Hilary’s twin sister, Amanda Sinclair. In 2022, she became the first Black woman to win the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress and also stepped back from the soap to pursue other opportunities, returning for visits in the years that followed. She and her husband, Navid Ali, are proud parents to son Niam (b. August 2015) and daughter Naliyah (b. November 2018).
