Devon and Hilary’s Unborn Baby Died on Young and Restless And Other Big Soap Moments From July 20

In 1994, General Hospital's Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) shared their first kiss. In the episode, Lucy fled a romantic dinner with Damian Smith and 'fessed up to Kevin that she had feelings for him, leading to the momentous smooch. Lucy and Kevin would go on to have an on-again, off-again love affair for decades.

In 2006, Jennifer Gareis (l., pictured with on-screen sister Katherine Kelly Lang, Brooke Logan) made her Bold and Beautiful debut as Donna Logan. The role had previously been played by Carrie Mitchum from 1987-1991, with Mitchum making additional guest appearances through 2001. Gareis was already familiar to daytime fans for her Young and Restless run as Grace Turner from 1997-99 (with guest appearances in 2002 and 2004).

In 2011, Y&R’s Sharon Newman (Sharon Case, pictured with Michael Muhney as Adam Newman) was sentenced to 25 years in prison for Skye’s murder. When new evidence subsequently came to light, Sharon was granted a retrial, and the district attorney's office ultimately opted to drop the charges.

In 2016, Parker Forsyth (Ashley Jones) and Kristina Davis (then-Lexi Ainsworth) made love for the first time on General Hospital. The pair met while Kristina was a student at Wesleyan, where Parker was a professor. Their relationship kicked off in earnest while Parker was in Port Charles, and it continued off-camera in Oregon, where they relocated, but they ultimately broke up and Kristina returned to town solo.

In 2019 on Young and Restless, Devon Winters rushed to the hospital after Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) was critically injured when her car was struck by another vehicle (one driven by Devon's sister, Lily). Hilary had been pregnant with his child at the time, and Devon received the devastating news from his father, Neil Winters, that while Hilary had pulled through emergency surgery to save her life after the accident, the baby did not survive. He broke down as Neil tried to console him. Nate Hastings updated Devon on Hilary's condition and gave him the go-ahead to visit her in the ICU. Hilary's eyes fluttered open and Devon explained why she was in the hospital. Gently, he let her know that she had lost the baby. Hilary began to weep.
