- Awards: Daytime Emmy Award
California-born Bryton James began his career in show business back when he was only 2 years old, appearing in print advertisements and commercials, including one with Michael Jackson. Then, at the age of 3, he was cast as Richie Crawford on the sitcom Family Matters and appeared in eight of its nine seasons. After the show ended, James took a break from acting, finishing school and traveling through Europe. He also explored music, releasing his first single, “Ooh, the Way I Feel About You,” on a German television show and performing on Disney Channel and other networks. In 2004, he joined the cast of Young and Restless as Devon Hamilton, a troubled teen who was taken in and adopted by the Winters family. During his decades with the soap, the talented performer has earned numerous Daytime Emmy Award nominations, winning Outstanding Younger Actor in 2007 and Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2020.
While appearing on Y&R, James also guest-starred for an arc on The Vampire Diaries in 2010 and has done lots of voice work for animated series like Star Wars: Rebels, DC Super Friends, Winx Club, and Young Justice. The actor is an active spokesperson for a number of charitable organizations and in 1996 founded RADDKids (Recording Artists, Actors, and Athletes Against Drunk Driving).
