Ashley Jones (Character Name TBA): A spokesperson for the show confirmed to Soap Opera Digest last week that the actress — who has appeared on Y&R as Megan Dennison and GH as Parker Forsyth in addition to her recurring role as Bridget Forrester on B&B — has been cast in a new mystery role. The Los Angeles-based actress posted on Instagram from the Atlanta set, writing, “So I’m working on a show. It’s far far away from… my life. But I like the people. And I really like the character 😉 😉😉Look, it’s not fun being apart from [son]Hayden. I really want a simple life in one place, but I didn’t sign up for that, I guess?? Ugh.”

Conner Floyd (Chad DiMera): Floyd’s casting as the successor to Billy Flynn as Chad was announced last spring, but due to the show’s long lead time from production to air, it has taken the actor nearly a year to make his on-screen debut. However, on Tuesday, April 21, fans will finally get to see the Y&R alum (ex-Chance) in action!
Autumn Grendon (Charlotte DiMera): Grendon, who has played Chad’s daughter since 2021, returns to Salem alongside her father.
AlexAnn Hopkins (Joy Wesley): Joy returns — as does her portrayer, Hopkins — on Friday, April 24. “What trouble will Joy be getting into this time?” the show teased on its official Instagram when the news was first announced. Hopkins made her DAYS debut in October 2024.
Sal Stowers (Lani Price Grant): The fan favorite is back in the Salem mix as of this week.
General Hospital
Daniel Cosgrove (Ezra Boyle): Ezra has a meaningful conversation with Laura (Genie Francis) on Friday, April 24.
Jonathan Bennett (Joe Fitzpatrick): Bennett, who made his TV debut as J.R. Chandler on All My Children back in 2001 and went on to star in Mean Girls and appear on shows like Dancing with the Stars and Celebrity Big Brother, has been cast in the newly created role of Joe. He will make his first appearance in May. “There’s a new guy in town…,” the actor winked on Instagram. Elliott Carr (Character TBA): Carr, who is the real-life big brother of Finn Carr (Rocco), will appear on the show on May 1 in an undisclosed role. The news was first reported in former Soap Opera Digest Editorial Director Stephanie Sloane’s newsletter, SoapSteph’s Soap Dish. The siblings will not be sharing scenes.
Finn Carr (Rocco Falconeri): Rocco will appear in multiple episodes this week as he struggles to keep a lid on the secret that he shot Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
Andrew Hawkes (Russ Cullum): Cullum is still hospitalized following his shooting, but many interested parties swing by his room this week.

In Memoriam
Rif Hutton, who GH fans will remember from his 1995 appearance as David Ward and his 2021 run as amnesiac Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) pal Lenny in the Nixon Falls storyline, died at the age of 73 on April 18 following a long battle with Gliobastoma, an aggressive brain cancer.
Patrick Muldoon (ex-Austin, DAYS; ex-Richard, Melrose Place) passed away on April 19 after suffering a heart attack at the age of 57. His DAYS co-stars, including Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami) and Deidre Hall (Marlena) paid tribute to him after the sad news of his death broke.
Industry News
CBS granted a two-season pickup to Beyond the Gates, guaranteeing that the sudser will remain on the air through the 2027-28 season with Seasons 3 and 4. “So this happened,” the show’s creator, head writer, executive producer and showrunner, Michele Val Jean, beamed on Instagram. “Thank you to everyone involved, from the network to the crew for the support, belief, hard work and dedication everyone has poured into this show.
