Real-Life Status
Kirsten Storms offered fans an update last week about both her health and her status at GH, where she is currently on hiatus from the role of Maxie. Maxie has been comatose since August, when Storms first began her leave from the show to facilitate her move from Los Angeles to Nashville. The actress subsequently shared on Instagram that at the start of 2025, she had been diagnosed with an aneurysm and would need to undergo brain surgery to ensure that it wouldn’t burst, which contributed to her decision to relocate from California. “Since I knew what an aneurysm was, the scan in January majorly freaked me out,” the actress admitted.
In her more recent post, Storms explained that her doctor was now of the opinion that surgery wasn’t an absolute necessity, and she was weighing her options as to whether to undergo the procedure. “Trying to see if I’m comfortable with the ‘wait and see if it gets worse’ plan,” she wrote. “I do know that I am not eager to hop right on the operating table.” She went on to hint that she might be back to work at the show early in the new year, concluding her message by saying, “maaaaybe you will be seeing me back in Port Charles soon.”
