Martha Madison
Houston, is a Texan at heart. She began performing at the Actors’ Theatre of Houston when she was 6, and as the years passed choose to stay behind and take classes during the summer rather than go to camp with her friends. Madison earned a degree in psychology from Texas A&M University, where she pursued her other love, dance. Upon graduation she headed to New York to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.
Madison made her big-screen debut with a bit part in the film Kate and Leopold, and her daytime debut with a short stint on Passions in 2004. However, it was landing the role of Belle Black on her favorite soap, Days of Our Lives, later that year, that was a dream come true for Madison. She exited the soap in 2008 (after which she nabbed guest spots on Without a Trace and Criminal Minds, and pinch-hit as Elizabeth Webber on General Hospital), returned from 2015-16, and appeared for short-term runs before rejoining the cast in 2020. She left again in 2023, returning in 2024. Madison has been married to A.J. Gilbert since 2007. The couple has a daughter, Charley, who was born in 2013.
