Who Is Peter Blake on Days of Our Lives? Everything You Need To Know

It’s been a while since Peter Blake has been on Days of Our Lives, so it’s understandable if some fans might need a bit of a refresher on the character and his history in Salem. Peter was first introduced back in 1993, and was played by Jason Brooks until 1996, returning for another stint from 1997-98. Then, in November 2025, it was announced that One Life to Live alum Dan Gauthier (ex-Kevin) would be taking over the role beginning with the December 19, 2025, episode of DAYS.

Shady Character

Peter Blake originally came to town to try and keep his sister, Kristen DiMera, away from John Black. After his and Stefano DiMera’s attempt to have John killed failed, they convinced Kristen to marry Tony DiMera as Stefano’s dying wish. Peter also began dating Jennifer Horton, and considered leaving his criminal past behind, like the club where he had been trafficking drugs. While at Maison Blanche for a charity event with some other Salem residents, Peter and Jennifer made love.

When Peter worried that Laura Horton would discover he was dealing drugs, he hired Daniel Scott to take care of her. Daniel had Laura’s office redecorated with toxic paint that made her susceptible to suggestion and convinced her that Peter was plotting to kill Jennifer. Laura’s wild accusations had her committed to an asylum again, but then Jen fell asleep in her mother’s office and also found herself admitted to the same facility. Mother and daughter wound up trapped on a fire escape, and when Peter rescued them, he played the hero. The toxic paint was then blamed on Daniel, who skipped town.

Three’s a Crowd

Jack Deveraux returned to Salem in 1994 and was determined to get Jennifer back, but she informed her ex that she loved Peter and planned to marry him. Peter took Jennifer to his hometown of Aremid, where he popped the question. They also learned about the legend of the Woman in White, who was later revealed to be Peter and Kristen’s mother, Rachel Black. Jack followed them to Aremid and schemed to come between them, but failed.

Returning to Salem, Peter tried to make a fresh start and divest himself from all of his shady business, including his club, The Blue Note. He planned to give it to Jude St. Clair, but first instructed the guy to dig up dirt on Jack. Learning that Jack and Laura had an affair, Peter arranged for Jennifer to find them in bed together. While Jack was temporarily in jail for suspected arson of the pavilion where the wedding was meant to take place, Peter and Jennifer were married on November 21, 1995.

Also an attorney, Peter wound up prosecuting John for murdering Tony. Jack and Jennifer went undercover at The Blue Note and nearly found evidence linking Peter and Jude. John was sentenced to death, but Jack found Tony’s diary, which helped clear John’s name. While assisting Bo Brady in rescuing Hope Brady from Jude in Aremid, Peter shot his former partner-in-crime in cold blood, but claimed self-defense, which everyone believed.

Laura learned from Rachel that Peter was mixed up with Jude, but kept it to herself so as not to hurt Jennifer. While in Paris with Jen, Peter teamed up with Kristen to help hypnotize John into getting her pregnant. Jack followed and, upon finding Daniel in Paris, managed to get him to reveal the truth about Peter’s dastardly schemes. Jack tried to tell Jennifer what he’d learned, but she didn’t believe him… at least not until Laura finally came forward with what she knew, as well. Back in Salem, Stefano offered his assistance, and Peter instructed Daniel to tell Jack and Jennifer he’d lied, but Jennifer tricked him into spilling his guts, including the part about gaslighting Laura. After Jen kicked him out of their home, Peter plotted to kidnap her. Jack thwarted the attempted abduction by shooting Peter, who was presumed dead. However, Stefano had saved Peter, and the body buried in the casket was actually Daniel’s. Stefano also managed to erase Laura’s memory, and Peter skipped town.

Madman

In 1997, Peter had recovered from his gunshot wound on an island in the jungle, and he paid Trent Davis to abduct Jennifer and planned to meet them at the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately, Peter was bitten by a mosquito and contracted “Jungle Madness,” which sent him into fits of violent rage with increased strength. Stefano told Peter to visit Dr. Rolf, who would present him with a cure, but Peter had an episode and attacked the mad scientist, losing the pills in the process. Peter went to the Grand Canyon, but found Trent dead and no sign of Jennifer. Peter returned to Salem, so Jack, Jennifer, and their daughter, Abigail, went on the run and joined the circus.

Stefano suggested Laura might know where her daughter had gone, but while attempting to plant a listening device on her, Peter had another episode and attacked her. When the circus came to Salem, Peter violently attacked Hope and tried to kidnap Jennifer. But when Jen tried to escape, her car crashed, and she was presumed dead. When Peter found circus owner Jasper Ward calling the police, he flew into another rage and put the guy into a coma. As Jennifer’s loved ones gathered for her funeral, Peter arrived with a gun and began shooting up the place! Jennifer’s spirit appeared to him and convinced him to turn himself in to the police. Jen was later revealed to be alive, Jasper came out of his coma, and Stefano visited Peter in jail to administer the cure to his “Jungle Madness” and arrange for him to be locked up in a minimum-security prison.

In July 2019, Peter’s name came up, and Abe Carver reported that the guy hadn’t been seen since he’d been released from prison. But Peter would later weigh in on some DiMera Enterprises votes to show that he remained loyal to Kristen.
