In 1986, Jake Meyer (Sam Behrens) and Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) wed on General Hospital. Bobbie said during her vows, "Jake and I want to share our happiness with all of our friends as we pledge to spend the rest of our lives together. I promise to honor and obey Jake — when he is right. And to respect him always, right or wrong. And to love him no matter what lies ahead. I promise I will follow Jake wherever he goes. I will follow his call because he's my husband and my helpmate, because he loves me and he wants what's best for me."

In 1987, Casey Peretti (Bill Shanks) and Lyla Montgomery (Anne Sward) wed on As The World Turns. Tom and Margo served as the best man and matron of honor at the ceremony, which took place in the hospital chapel. Casey's family traveled from Boston for the happy occasion. The marriage produced a daughter, Katie, who was born in 1989 and became a main character on the show was she was older. In 2015, Martha Madison returned to Days of Our Lives as Belle Black Brady after a 7-year absence. She told Soap Opera Digest that a call inquiring about her interest in a comeback from then-Executive Producer Greg Meng “came from out of the blue. Greg invited me to come meet with him.” At that meeting, Meng and Madison chatted with then-Head Writer Josh Griffith. “We talked about DAYS and what possibilities might be there. We ended the meeting with things very open.” A week later, she had received an official offer to return. Madison said, "I always hoped that I would get that call because I love the show,” she enthuses. “But there are no guarantees in this business. So even though I definitely hoped that this day would come along, I never expected it to actually happen. When it did, it was kind of a shock.”

In 2015, Olivia Rose Keegan made her Days of Our Lives debut as Claire Brady, a role for which she would ultimately win a Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Younger Performer. She said of her audition in an interview with Soap Opera Digest, "I remember feeling super-nervous, just because of how cool the opportunity was to audition for Days of Our Lives. Marnie Saitta, the show’s awesome casting director, really helped guide me through it and made me feel really welcomed and relaxed. She spent time talking to me and the other actresses. We started to have a deep conversation about life. It was such an original experience and a fun, rewarding audition.”
