Young and Restless’s Sharon Wed Tucker and Other Big Soap Moments from September 27

In 1988 on Bold and Beautiful, Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) was horrified to witness her son Thorne Forrester shoot her other son/his own brother, Ridge Forrester (then-Ronn Moss), in the head! At the time, Thorne was deeply intoxicated, under the influence of both alcohol and sedatives and was reeling from the discovery that in a prank gone very wrong, Caroline, Thorne's wife, had unwittingly slept with Ridge. Thorne passed out and came to with no memory of the crime he had committed. Ridge pulled through, and Thorne ultimately learned that he was the shooter.

In 2002 on General Hospital, Jasper "Jax" Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and Skye Quartermaine (Robin Christopher) officially became husband and wife. After the "I do's" were exchanged, the bouquet was tossed — and caught by none other than notoriously marriage-shy Alexis Davis. Jax and Skye then headed for home, and as Skye slipped into something a little more comfortable, Jax was left alone. He then heard a familiar female voice say, "Congratulations." He turned around and couldn't believe who was standing before him: Brenda Barrett, his former fiancée, who he had spent the last four years believing was dead!

In 2005, Claire Brady was born on Days of Our Lives, much to the joy of proud mom Belle Brady (Martha Madison) and grandmother Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). At the time of her birth, Claire was believed to be the biological daughter of Philip Kiriakis, but eventually, the truth came out that she was Shawn Brady's biological child. Belle went into labor at the wedding of her half sister Sami Brady to Lucas Roberts (which was interrupted before completion) and gave birth at St. Luke's Church; mom and baby were then transported to the hospital. Philip and Belle chose her name there, and asked Shawn and Mimi to be the tot's godparents.

In 2012, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) wed Tucker McCall (Stephen Nichols) on Young and Restless. At the time, Sharon was married to Victor Newman, who had been presumed dead, and while Victor was missing in action, seemingly for good, Sharon and Tucker had become lovers. He convinced her to marry him and run Newman Enterprises together. The day of the wedding, Sharon threw together a memorial service for Victor and hurried out of it to primp for her nuptials. She and Tucker exchanged vows, but before the groom could kiss his bride, who should walk in but a very much alive Victor, escorted by Nikki! Victor's return to the land of the living invalidated Sharon's new marriage.

In 2023 on General Hospital, Kristen Vaganos made her debut in the role of Molly Lansing-Davis. The actress told Soap Opera Digest that she found it easy to bond with her new Port Charles family. "It’s been so lovely getting to know Kate [Mansi, Kristina]," she enthused. "We were fast friends. We get along super-well and we’re actually quite similar, so it was easy to form a sisterly bond with her — and with our ‘mom’, Nancy [Lee Grahn, Alexis] and with Kelly [Monaco, Sam]. The whole family has really clicked quite quickly and it’s been really exciting to sort of sink my teeth into it and establish this new family connection. General Hospital is such a well-oiled machine and a roller coaster that has already started and you don’t have a lot of time [built into the work day] to develop relationships. You have to try to have that energy and that bond immediately and try to fit right into the puzzle. And it happens so fast! But luckily for us, it’s been really organic and really easy and we all get along and have a lovely trust and a really good time working together, which makes our scenes really fun to do."
