Charles Shaughnessy

British actor Charles Shaughnessy is best known to soap fans for his portrayal of Shane Donovan on Days of Our Lives, which he originally played from 1984-92 and has reprised multiple times over the years (he has also occasionally played Shane’s twin, Drew). Shaughnessy won the 1985 Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Male Newcomer and, alongside leading lady Patsy Pease (ex-Kimberly), won twice for Favorite Supercouple. Also recognized for his starring role on The Nanny, Shaughnessy appeared on General Hospital as Victor Cassadine from 2021-23 and won a Daytime Emmy in 2002 for voicing Dennis the Goldfish on Stanley.
