Five Things That Happened On November 18 In Soap History

In 1982, General Hospital's Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) and Heather Webber (Robin Mattson) bickered after Scott stood Heather up to spend time with Susan Moore, Heather's cousin, who was depressed and drinking heavily. Scotty and Heather had hatched a scheme to get their hands on the money Susan had access to after scoring a big trust fund for her son, Jason, from his father, Alan Quartermaine. Susan developed real feelings for Scotty and in December of 1982, persuaded him to marry her, unaware that he was being driven only by dollar signs.

In 2004, Young and Restless's Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) learned from Neil Winters that Victor Newman had appointed Nick Newman as the new CEO of Newman Enterprises. Phyllis was outraged on Neil's behalf, but Neil, who had been the acting CEO, told Phyllis that he was taking the news in stride and didn't have an issue with going back to his old position as COO. Phyllis confirmed Neil's sense that she wasn't the biggest fan of Nick's (who, of course, would later become her husband and the father of her child). "And he's not a big fan of mine, either," Phyllis noted. "How soon do you think I'm going to be pink-slipped?" Later, she congratulated Nick on his new title and he assured her that he had no intention of firing her.

In 2005 on General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) prepared to undergo experimental treatment administered by his ex-lover, Robin Scorpio. Sam (Kelly Monaco) was by his side and reassured him, "Just remember, when this procedure or whatever is over and your seizures and your headaches, they go away, and you get well again, we can focus on our future together." He replied, "There's something I need to ask you before ... before all this happens. Will you marry me?" She reminded him that she had already agreed to be his wife, and he surprised her by whipping out an engagement ring to make it all official. Sam was overwhelmed (in a good way!) and told Jason he was the most romantic man she'd ever met.

In 2011, Tucker McCall (Stephen Nichols) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) remarried on Young and Restless. The duo had previously wed in a private ceremony in his hospital room, but the union had hit the rocks. When they reunited, Ashley agreed to marry Tucker in a proper church wedding. Ashley was delighted to have her siblings, Jack and Traci, her dear friend, Olivia, and her daughter, Abby, by her side. After the minister pronounced them husband and wife, Tucker told Ashley, "I just want to tell you thanks." "Thanks for what?" the bride queried. "For, um, showing up, and saying yes and looking so beautiful," he replied. Tucker then announced to the crowd that he was surprising Ashley with a honeymoon trip to his private island.

In 2015, Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Bo (Peter Reckell) made love on Days of Our Lives for the first time since he returned to Salem and prevented her groom, Aiden Jennings, from carrying through with his plan to murder her on their wedding night. Hope was still understandably traumatized by that event, and Bo entered the bedroom they had once shared to find Hope cutting up her blood-stained wedding dress. He crawled into the bed with her and held her close, assuring her, "You will always, always have me."  After they made love, Bo felt a searing pain in his head, which turned out to be an inoperable brain tumor.
