Jason and Elizabeth Made Love on General Hospital and Other Big Soap Moments From August 14

In 2006, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Elizabeth Webbber (Rebecca Herbst) made love on General Hospital, conceiving their son, Jake. In the storyline, Liz's marriage to Lucky was on the rocks in light of his drug addiction and infidelity with Maxie, while Jason was heartbroken after catching Sam in a compromising position with her stepfather, Ric. Liz sought out Jason for comfort, climbing up 15 flights of stairs during a blackout to reach his penthouse. There, the duo finally gave in to their long-simmering attraction.

In 2009, Amanda Setton, who now plays Brook Lynn on General Hospital, made her daytime debut as One Life To Live's Kimberly Andrews. “I loved Kim,” the actress told Soap Opera Digest in 2021. “What a funny one. Stripper with a heart of gold! I absolutely loved how nasty she was, all for the sake of her bestie. Loved playing the comedy of her, the over-the-top-ness, so to speak. It felt like the writers began to write for that, and I loved bringing it to life."

In 2012, Liam (Scott Clifton) woke up alongside Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) after the duo partied all night on the eve of his wedding to Hope. Steffy relentlessly implored him to reconsider getting hitched to Ms. Logan, going so far as to compare marrying Hope to consigning himself to a prison sentence.  

In 2023 on Young and Restless, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) remarried Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John). Before the ceremony, Ashley's daughter, Abby, voiced her concern that Tucker was going to break Ash's heart yet again. Ashley asserted that she loved Tucker and this time, they would get it right. She told Abby that if Tucker hurt her, she would kill him. The groom, meanwhile, had a surly encounter with Ashley's ex-husband Victor, who professed that Ashley was only going through with this "sham wedding" because she wanted to get under the skin of her brother, Jack Abbott, and his new wife, Diane Jenkins. Jack and Diane were the last guests to arrive for the wedding. “I’m excited about our future together because it’s going to be fun," beamed Ashley as she spoke impromptu vows. Tucker got emotional when it was his time to speak, calling Ashley the one that got away and declaring of their reunion, "I feel like this is a miracle.” He never stopped loving her and will always love her. After they were pronounced husband and wife, Ashley threw her bouquet to Abby and shared a passionate kiss with her spouse.

On Days of Our Lives in 2024, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) was struck by a car that was being driven by a drunk-driving Fiona Cook — her mother-in-law! Fiona, who had an equally inebriated Brady in the vehicle with her, jumped out of the car to check on the unconscious, bloody victim and was horrified to realize her identity. When Fiona heard her son's voice, she fled the scene in a panic. Xander, meanwhile, raced to Sarah's side and frantically tried to minister to his wife. He called 911 and as he waited for the ambulance, he begged Sarah to hang on.
