In 2002, Ted King made his General Hospital debut as Luis Alcazar, a role he played until November, when Luis was killed. King returned to the show the following year as Luis's brother, Lorenzo Alcazar, remaining until 2007. The actor recalled to Soap Opera Digest in 2023 of first joining the show, "I had just come off of a prime-time series and shooting a film in South Africa. When I got back, my representation asked me, ‘How would you feel about doing four months on General Hospital?’ I said sure, so they brought me on the show basically to bring Vanessa Marcil’s Brenda back; she had been off the air for a couple of years. We quickly found out that Luis was not the nicest guy and was an arms dealer, and that’s how he had made all this money. So the writing was on the wall for Luis, that he wasn’t going to be on the canvas for too long, which was exactly what I signed up for. But during the time I was there, I really enjoyed working with the cast and crew much more than I anticipated I would, so I was very disappointed when the time came to kill him off. There were rumors they were going to find a way to bring me back. But Luis was killed in a way that’s difficult to bring back. Alexis pushed him out of a window, and he fell on a car with blood coming out of his ears. So they asked me would I like to come back as Luis’s brother.”

In 2011, the “two Todds” came face to face on One Life To Live. It was a storyline moment many years in the making, as when Roger Howarth (l.) had left the iconic role of Todd Manning in 2003, the role was recast with Trevor St. John — but when As The World Turns (where Howarth had played Paul Ryan from 2003-10) went off the air, OLTL lured him back to the show. It was ultimately revealed that St. John's Todd was actually the secret twin brother of Howarth's Todd, born Victor Lord, Jr., and had been brainwashed to assume his twin's identity.

In 2016, future spouses Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) went on their first date on General Hospital. They met up at the hospital, where they both worked, and he presented her with a flower. When she tensed up at the prospect of the date not taking place in public (he was previously a serial killer, after all), he took her to The Floating Rib, but they hashed things out and she agreed to accompany him to a different location. He then surprised her by escorting her to his art studio, where he had planned a romantic dinner for her.

In 2024, Arianne Zucker aired for the final time as Nicole Walker on Days of Our Lives. The actress began playing Nicole in 1998. Her original run in Salem came to an end in 2006, but she returned two years later, staying from 2008 until October 2017. She made a brief appearance in 2018 and returned in 2019 full-time.
