General Hospital’s Elizabeth Fantasized About a Life with Jason and Other Big Moments From August 26

In 2008, Genie Francis returned to General Hospital as Laura Spencer, the iconic character she had last played in 2006. At the time, Laura was catatonic and had been off-camera in a treatment facility. In the storyline, she received a visit from her troubled daughter, Lulu Spencer, then played by Julie Marie Berman. Francis returned for several months, then wasn't seen again as Laura until 2013.

In 2009, Lulu Spencer (then-Julie Marie Berman) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) kissed for the first time on General Hospital after she thwarted Ethan Lovett's efforts to get him to leave town. (At the time, he was still working undercover as "Dominic Pirelli.") In 2011, the couple took their first walk down the aisle. They are now divorced (for the second time), but share a son, Rocco.

In 2010, Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane Ashby's (then-Daniel Goddard) twins, Mattie and Charlie, were christened on Young and Restless. The babies were carried by a surrogate, Mackenzie, and at the christening, Traci became their godmother and their mom's brother, Devon, became their godfather.

In 2011 on General Hospital, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was undergoing a critical and highly risky brain surgery. As Patrick Drake operated on Jason, several people close to the patient imagined alternate realities of what their relationships with Jason might have looked like. Among them was Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). In her fantasy, Liz envisioned herself as a successful artist in a loving partnership with Jason, who was an architect and not a mob enforcer. Monica, Jason's mother, was another character who let her imagination run wild, setting the stage for a guest appearance by Stuart Damon, who played Jason's father, Alan, who passed away on the show in 2007. The fantasy sequences were intercut with scenes of Jason on the operating table in real life.

In 2024, Sawandi Wilson made his General Hospital debut in the role of Dr. Isaiah Gannon, an associate of Lucky's who landed in Port Charles and was hired at the hospital. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest about his first day at work, Wilson recalled, "I had a call time for about 7 a.m. and basically, I got to set and was still figuring out, 'Okay, I’ve gotta go to my dressing room. I’ve gotta go to hair and makeup.' People were starting to walk through the door and the first person I see is Steve Burton [Jason]. And he’s in the zone, he’s getting ready for a scene, for the first thing he has to shoot. He shows me where my dressing room is, where hair and makeup is, everything — he just shows me around and I’m like, 'Ah, great, amazing. Thank you!' And then the very first scene that I shot, because we filmed things out of order, was [Isaiah] getting hit by a car. I was like, 'How are they gonna do the whole car thing?' They brought this car [onto the set] and they shined a light on my face and immediately, I’ve got to jump backwards onto a mat. In my head, I was like, 'I’m so lucky that I started this art form with breakdancing because I know how to fall with that.' And right after that, it was Steve finding me in the rain. So I’m laying on my back, pretty much a chalk outline on my back, it’s raining down on me so I’ve got water coming down my nose, water coming in my ears, and then the scene is him pretty much calling it in, saying that I’m the John Doe in Port Charles. That was my first day on set!"
