In 1980, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) was poised to marry mafia princess Jennifer Smith (Lisa Marie) aboard the yacht belonging to her father, Frank Smith. Before the ceremony, Scotty Baldwin stumbled upon a letter written by his wife, Laura, that named Luke as the man who had raped her the previous year. Over Laura's protests, Scotty went ballistic and vowed to get back at Luke. He hightailed it to the waterfront and lunged for Luke. A violent fistfight ensued, and Scotty landed a blow that sent Luke sailing overboard! He was presumed dead (in actuality, he was rescued by Laura, and the pair went on the run), while Scotty found himself in legal hot water.

Number one: the bride's ex-husband, Sonny Corinthos, had killed AJ Quartermaine, the biological father of Carly's firstborn, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) — and Carly had helped Sonny cover it up. Number two: Carly had been cheating on Franco with Sonny, and Franco had proof on video. When officiant Lucy prompted Franco to say, "I do," he instead said, "Hell no." Franco proceeded to put Carly's affair with Sonny on blast, screening the illicit footage that exposed to Michael how his parents had betrayed him. Before the church ceremony, Lulu frantically tried to get Nina alone, but Nina understandably had other priorities. She made her way down the aisle, where she and Valentin exchanged emotional, heartfelt vows as Lulu watched from her seat. Finally, Lulu couldn't take it anymore. She rose to her feet and announced that she had something to say. Nina went off on Lulu for making problems on her special day, but was silenced when Lulu blurted out that Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) wasn't really Nina's daughter! She explained how she had come to believe this after overhearing a telltale conversation between Sasha and Liesl Obrecht on the subject of DNA tests — and added that she was sure that Valentin had been in on the deception. Nina blasted Lulu's claims as ridiculous, and turned to Sasha to verify her certainty. A tearful Sasha couldn't bring herself to keep lying. "Nina, I'm sorry, but I'm not ... I'm not your child," she confessed. Nina was devastated as Sasha detailed how she had agreed to pose as Nina's child for money. In 2022, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton, l.) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) planned to wed in a double ceremony alongside Anna's goddaughter, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and supposed son, Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Anna was harboring some mighty secrets, namely that she was not, in fact, Peter's biological mother (her evil twin, Alex, was), and that Peter had committed a litany of serious crimes that Maxie was in the dark about. At the time, Anna sincerely believed that Peter had changed for the better, so she justified her silence even though she knew Finn would be furious to find out she was keeping such important things from him. When she discovered, much to her dismay, that Peter was not as redeemed as she had hoped, she tried to covertly stop him from marrying Maxie by working with Valentin to waylay him from the ceremony. But Peter managed to free himself, and the wedding got underway with Lucy officiating. Lucy didn't manage to get very far before the event was crashed by Liesl Obrecht, Anna's longtime foe and Maxie's one-time mother-in-law. "You've been fed a pack of lies by those you trust most!" she declared to Maxie. To prove her point, Liesl screened a video in which Alex revealed that she, not Anna, was Peter's mother, and that Anna already knew it. Anna confirmed her sister's account. Peter was crushed — as was Finn, particularly when he realized Anna had confided the truth in Valentin, but not him. Finn stormed out. Maxie, who was pregnant with Peter's child, was still eager to marry him, but Valentin said he couldn't let Peter hurt anyone else. Val spilled to Maxie that Peter had willingly colluded with Helena Cassadine, had been responsible for Drew's presumed death and had busted shady Shiloh out of jail. Maxie refused to believe it, certain Anna would have told her if any of that were true. Maxie was gutted when Anna corroborated Valentin's claims. Peter tried to persuade Maxie to leave with him, only to be met with a punch from Maxie's stepdad, Mac.
