Did General Hospital Just Soft-Launch a Cassadine Recast?
Is General Hospital gearing up to rapidly age and recast Ace Cassadine, the grandson of Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Heather Webber (Alley Mills)? It sure seemed that way after Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) made a telling comment to Heather in the November 3 episode.
Will Ace Cassadine Return to Port Charles Older?
When Anna ran into the recently returned Heather, the ex-con explained that she was back in Port Charles in large part to build a relationship with Ace, the son of her presumed-dead daughter Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) and Laura’s son Nikolas Cassadine (most recently played by Adam Huss).
As she attempted to dissuade Heather from sticking around, Anna noted that with her notorious reputation, Heather’s presence in Port Charles might actually not be in Ace’s best interests. Heather, whose long rap sheet includes a stint as the serial killer known as The Hook, conceded that Ace’s peers might give him a hard time for “having a psycho as a grandma.”
Anna concurred, noting, “Ace is going to be a teenager soon.”
That came as news to GH fans, given that Ace was born in February 2023!
Ace was still a young boy the last time he was on screen in January 2026. Since that time, the character has been off camera in Ireland with his step-grandfather, Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom), and his Grandma Laura is currently visiting them.
If Ace does return to the canvas as a preteen or teenager, he would join a long line of Port Charles offspring to undergo the sudden growth spurt soap fans are well familiar with. Just a few months ago, the character of Scout Cain aged several years overnight when the role was recast with Kayden Brenna Tokarski.
Of course, Anna’s comment could have just been a wink to the audience about how common it is for soap characters to be rapidly aged.
