Raven Bowens Was ‘Completely Blindsided’ By Days of our Lives Firing

Raven Bowens was “completely blindsided” when she learned on January 2 that she was being fired from Days of our Lives after five years as Chanel Dupree. In a recent TikTok video, the actress broke her silence about receiving the unexpected news.

Raven Bowens Opens Up About DAYS Firing and What’s Next

“On January 2nd, before I could even start on any of my New Year’s resolutions, I got fired,” Bowens recalled, sharing that an early morning call from a DAYS producer immediately raised her suspicions.

“It’s like, eight o’clock in the morning, and I am completely blindsided,” Bowens detailed, saying that she told her sister, who was visiting her at the time, “‘Why would my producer be calling me on January 2nd? We don’t go back to work for a week. Something is going on. I think I’m getting fired.’”

Bowens continued, “I answered that call, and that is what that call was.”

Bowens explained that the news took her completely by surprise — especially since she had recently signed a new, nine-month contract with DAYS. But, she noted, soap contracts typically include an option that gives producers the ability to fire actors at the end of a 13-week cycle. “Every three months, your contract can not be renewed or picked up,” she said.

During the call, Bowens revealed, “I was told that they didn’t have a storyline for me at the moment and so they will be writing my character off at the end of my current storyline.”

The actress said, “While that isn’t fun, that is the business of show business, especially on soap operas. So it is what it is. That’s the contract I signed. I had to accept it. But it was a really hard reality.”

Having spent five years in Salem, “I got comfortable,” she admitted. “That was like my second home.”

Bowens was one of four DAYS stars who were let go at the start of 2026. Her leading man, Carson Boatman (Johnny DiMera), was also fired, as were Leo Howard (Tate Donovan) and Ashley Puzemis (Holly Jonas).

Because DAYS tapes nearly a year in advance, Bowens is still airing on the Peacock soap. Her final air date has not been announced.

As for what the future holds for Bowens, she declared, “My next chapter is not my acting career ending because I’m an actress. I will always be an actress. I have sacrificed so much for this life and for this career and I love it. I will never give it up and I will never quit.”

However, losing her job made Bowens realize the importance of having “other streams of income.”

In a separate video, Bowens shared that her goal was to become a millionaire by the end of 2027 and introduced her TikTok series, “Millionaire Pending,” where she is documenting the ups and downs of her financial journey as she puts the lessons she’s learned from her father, a financial and wealth coach, into effect.

In that video, she noted, “Most [acting] jobs don’t last that long, and I was on a soap opera for five years, which is longer than most acting jobs go.”

“When that job ended,” she explained, “I was kind of shocked. I had felt a certain sense of security, even working in a non-secure profession, and I didn’t really prepare… This series is me trying to put myself in a position so that nothing like this ever happens again.”
