Days of Our Lives Reveals General Hospital Alum Sofia Mattsson is Playing Chloe Lane!
Days of our Lives confirmed its hiring of General Hospital alum Sofia Mattsson (ex-Sasha Gilmore) in March 2026 — but the role she was playing was kept under wraps until today, when a juicy promo teasing the drama in store for Salem this fall and winter revealed that she is joining the show as a recast Chloe Lane, the character Nadia Bjorlin originated in 1999 and last played in 2023.
Sofia Mattsson to Play Days of our Lives‘ Chloe
While much of the promo focuses on the chaos that ensues from Dominic Marino’s (Kyle Pryor) arrival in Salem as the apparent son of Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), it’s the brief appearance by Sofia Mattsson that is likely to get a lot of fans talking!
Around one minute into the extended promo, Mattsson is seen in character passionately kissing Eric Martsolf, whose Brady Black has been romantically linked to Chloe on and off for decades. “Hi, Chloe,” Brady says. “I’ve missed you so much,” she responds.
The actress, who exited GH in 2025 after a seven-year run as beleaguered heroine Sasha, isn’t expected to make her DAYS debut until early 2027. Rumors have been flying for months about the identity of her character, with many fans online correctly deducing that she would be assuming the role of Chloe.
While not disclosing any identifying details about her Salem alter ego, Mattsson told People in April 2026 that her new DAYS role “is very complex and interesting” and promised “lots of fun exciting storylines and drama” ahead.
Why Nadia Bjorlin Isn’t Returning as Chloe
In August 2026, Nadia Bjorlin confirmed that she had been invited back to DAYS to reprise Chloe but had declined the offer, telling Michael Fairman that since she no longer lives in Los Angeles, “Logistically, it just didn’t make sense.” Bjorlin also hinted at financial reasons, speaking of the realities of “TV now and budgets and whatnot.”
Bjorlin added that given her long association with DAYS and with Chloe, “It hurt my heart to have to say no,” before concluding, “So, I guess I can confirm that it will not be me playing Chloe if there’s a Chloe that comes back [laughs].”
