Beth Maitland (Traci, Y&R) appreciates the leading men she has worked with in the past. “I have had the pleasure to work with some amazing actors and wonderful people through the years,” the actress
marvels. “I recently watched some scenes with Sc
tt Palmer, who played Traci’s college professor, Tim Sullivan, and miss him a bunch.
There was some good, emotional stuff between those characters that really changed Traci and gave me adult storylines to play. I also loved the handsome humor of Greg Wrangler, who was Traci’s ex- husband, Steve Connelly, and I miss him terribly. Someone recently posted a clip from a Danny Romalotti concert and I stay in touch with and love [his portrayer,] Michael Damian. Along with Tracey Bregman [Lauren], we had a wonderful time singing and performing. But there's one actor who will always stand out as Maitland's personal fave. "I think I would have to say I miss working with Don Diamond [ex-Brad; Bill, B&B] most of all," she smiles. "We worked together the longest, through ups and downs, personally and professionally, and he is a man and an actor i am so proud of. His commitment to his family and friends and his professionalism and respect for his work have grown to epic proportions, and I don't know what I'd do if I didn't get to run into him at CBS often and catch up. I have so much respect and love for him."
Parental Guidance
William Lipton (Cameron, GH) cher- ishes the familial bond he gets to play with his Port Charles caretakers, Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) and Roger Howarth (Franco). “I think what has made the chemistry on-screen so easy and so natural is that she is also a mother herself,” he says of Herbst. “She has always been super-compassionate and kind to me. Same with Roger. I remember when I had my first crying scene, when Cameron found out that Oscar died, that both Becky and Roger were so kind before the scene happened. She really helped me get to that emotional point and she cared so much about me doing the best i could. I really appreciate that. Roger is also a parent in real life and our chemistry is very natural. And he's so funny! We always talk about music and family and it's alway so much fun to work with him."
Video Vixens
Twelve B&B actresses collaborated on a fun video from home that was posted online, which shows the ladies transforming from their everyday look to glam. "It's fantastic," enthuses Courtney Hope (Sally). "The show came to us with this concept and coordinated where we'd all throw a makeup brush and from there, it was all us. You have the 'before' wake-up/no makeup look and then your 'after' glam/going-out look. It was our own creativity at hand. I knew where my brush was coming in from and where I had to throw it, and the rest was up to me." Hope says it wasn't tough to decide on looks. "In the mooning, I love to drink my tea and I'm always in a good mood, so I do little dance in one of my comfiest pajama outfits, and my hair and makeup was just how I woke up. After that, I chose of of my favorite dresses that's super-simple and classic, and what do I do when I get ready? I grab a glass of wine while I'm doing my makeup and listen to music. The video turned out so great, and the fans really seem to enjoy it, which is why we wanted to do it in the first place."
GOOD-BYE GIRLS
The only thing harder than DAYS’s Sarah giving up baby Mickey on-screen was actress Linsey Godfrey (Sarah) realizing her days of working closely with the twins who played her, Josephine and Rosalind May, were over. “I really love Jo Jo and Ros,” says Godfrey. “I played with them every time I went in to work. I’d go to their room and hang out. I’d even hold them in between scenes, chat with them and keep them entertained. So the idea of my not getting to act with them anymore made me sad.” Godfrey describes the twins as “two of the happiest, easiest, sweetest and most amazing babies. We had a scene where one of them, I think it was Jo Jo, was passed to three different people, and there was not a peep out of her,” notes Godfrey. “I was holding her, then Greg [Vaughan, Eric], then Paul [Telfer, Xander] ... Jo Jo just bobbed along and was totally fine. I really miss playing with them. I got my baby fix from them because I don’t have any interest in making another one. And [daughter] Ledy is so big now. It was nice to get my baby fix, spend time with Jo Jo and Ros, and then give them back to their mother.”
