The Young and the Restless’ Eileen Davidson Fractures Patella in Cold Plunge Accident
The Young and the Restless star Eileen Davidson (Ashley) is recovering from a fractured patella after slipping while getting out of a cold plunge. The actress shared that she’ll be sidelined for several weeks as she recovers from surgery.
Eileen Davidson Shares Update After Fracturing Her Patella
The Daytime Emmy-winning actress shared the news of her injury on Instagram. Alongside a photo of herself dancing and another showing her swollen kneecap and her leg in a brace, Davidson wrote, “I sure won’t be making those moves anytime soon! Slipped getting out of a cold plunge and fractured my patella. I’m gonna be down for the count for quite a few weeks recovering from surgery. Thanks to the EMTs and the great team at @losrobleshospital,”
The comment section on Davidson’s post was filled with well wishes for a speedy recovery. Bravo’s Andy Cohen, who worked with Davidson during her years as a cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, wrote, “No! Get well soon ❤️.” Y&R co-star Lauralee Bell (Christine) shared, “Oh no!! So sorry! Speedy recovery! ❤️ Heal well and in time knowing you you’ll get your groove back!” Y&R’s Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) chimed in, “Nooooooo😢 Sending huge hugs, love you!❤️.” Days of Our Lives‘ Stephen Nichols (Steve), who was Davidson’s Y&R love interest when he played Tucker McCall, posted, “Oh, Eileen… so sorry! Get better soon. Sending love and healing vibes.♥️🕉️.”
This is not the first time Davidson has broken a bone. In 2018, she fractured her toe while on vacation. “Florida gave me the boot. #brokentoe,” she posted on Instagram at the time.
While Davidson is not in a heavy storyline as Ashley at the moment, the character did make an appearance in the Y&R fall preview given by Executive Producer Sally McDonald, who teased that Ashley and her sister, Traci (Beth Maitland), would both be weighing in on their brother Billy’s (Jason Thompson) choice of partner as he prepares to walk down the aisle with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
