GH Nurses Ball Day Two: Confrontations and Confessions!

Comments

The General Hospital Nurses Ball may be a gala fundraiser for HIV and AIDS awareness and research, but it’s also become a hot spot for drama, intrigue and shocking revelations each year. While the first episode dedicated to the annual Port Charles event primarily featured the red carpet arrivals showing off the glamorous looks for the night, the second show this year saw the main event get underway with show-stopping musical performances and several shocking confessions!

The Curtain Rises

The episode began backstage, with a frantic Lucy searching for her missing gown. Luckily, Amy had the frock, and Hostess Coe was ready to open the show. Over in the ballroom, all eyes were on Willow and Drew as the controversial couple entered, but Willow quickly exited to change for her performance. The 2025 Nurses Ball then officially began with Lucy’s introduction. Sharing that she founded the gala event 31 years ago to bring awareness to HIV and AIDS, the hostess marveled, “I thought it would be a one-time event, but it grew into this storied Port Charles institution.”

Then she introduced the evening’s first musical number — the heroes who wear scrubs — as Amy, Deanna, Isaiah, and Willow were joined by other GH staffers to sing Madonna’s “Holiday.”

Ballroom Blitz

In between musical numbers, Kai was telling Trina and Josslyn how happy he was to be out of the hospital when Drew and Willow stepped into the hallway. Not willing to pass up an opportunity to corner her brother’s estranged wife, Joss followed Willow into the bathroom and warned her that she would never take Michael’s children away from him. Then, Drew barged into the women’s restroom to save Willow from Josslyn’s sharp tongue… but not before Joss delivered some cutting comments about the Congressman, drugs and escorts.

Having deposited Tracy at the police station for booking, Chase finally arrived at the Ball where he, Brook Lynn, Cody and Dante discussed whether or not the Quartermaine matriarch actually drugged Drew. Meanwhile, Sonny thought he was making idle small talk with ADA Justine Turner until she implied that he would have to leave town should Measure C pass the vote, and Isaiah encountered Jordan with Nurses Ball sponsor Sidwell. “It’s nice to see your blood money do some good for a change,” Isaiah told him sarcastically.

A Marriage in Jeopardy

After witnessing a tense interaction between Portia and Drew, Curtis got his wife alone and asked why she’s been hiding the fact that Drew is blackmailing her. Portia explained that it all began when Brad Cooper learned she’d altered Heather Webber’s cobalt poisoning records — which Curtis already knew about — and  began blackmailing her. At first, she claimed, she felt that she had it under control as it was a hospital matter and therefore saw no reason to involve Curtis. But things escalated once Drew discovered what she’d done “and it became something much bigger,” she admitted. Angry that his wife was still keeping secrets from him after everything they’d gone through with Trina’s parentage, Curtis pointed out that Portia’s actions had put their entire family at risk. Unfortunately for Portia, her husband got even more ticked off when she confessed that she’d been manipulating him on Drew’s behalf to have Aurora Media run positive stories on the Congressman. “You didn’t protect our marriage. You ruined it,” Curtis declared.

A Family in Crisis

Over at Alexis’s house, she and Kristina were nowhere near ready to leave for the ball after Alexis confessed that she knew Kristina had been responsible for the car crash that nearly killed Ric and Elizabeth. Kristina attempted to talk her way out of taking any responsibility, once again blaming Ava for provoking her. But to Kristina’s surprise, Alexis indicated that she had no intention of turning her daughter in. “We just have to cover it up,” Alexis said. At first, Kristina was worried that Lucky ratted her out, because she’d already covered it up and he was the only person who knew she was responsible. But when Alexis shared that Lucky confirmed it only after she’d already pieced it together herself, Kristina further tried to justify her actions that Ava was the target, not Ric and Liz. Snapped Alexis, “What the hell difference does it make whose brake lines you were gonna cut? You tampered with a car with the intention of hurting somebody. And you did!”

Kristina was shocked to hear that not only did Ric and Ava have video evidence of her actions, but they also had the damaged car hidden away. Worse yet, they have been blackmailing Alexis to embezzle money from the Cassadine estate. Kristina suggested bringing in Sonny to help them deal with the situation, but Alexis quickly shot down that idea, explaining that by playing along with Ric and Ava’s game, she’s not only protecting Kristina but Molly as well.

This Is The Greatest Show

Taking over the emcee duties, Metro Court owners Olivia and Carly were introducing the next musical act — Lucy, Anna, Felicia, and Tracy — when Carly was handed a note. “Another expect-the-unexpected Nurses Ball snafu,” she said. “Welcome to the stage a surprise special guest.” Donning the pink cowboy boots and sparkly hat presumably meant for Tracy, Spinelli filled in to sing “These Boots Were Made for Walking” while the three women danced in the background.

The Son Also Rises

After making his Nurses Ball debut with an electric violin number (a performance of “Glow,” an original song by Gio’s portrayer, Giovanni Mazza), Gio admitted to his Aunt Lois that performing on stage made him feel closer to his mom. Meanwhile, Chase and Brook Lynn marveled over the young man’s talent, and Dante reluctantly admitted that he thought Gio’s performance was great.

Opposite this, Lulu updated Cody that she had tried to get Lois alone to confirm her suspicions about Gio’s adoption, but Lois had been pulled aside. Seizing another opportunity a little while later, Lulu confronted Lois backstage. At first, Lois tried to downplay why she had looked so proud during Gio’s performance, but her expression soon turned to one of shock when Lulu revealed that she knew Camila never gave birth to a son in Los Angeles — but that Brook Lynn did and she believes Gio is Brook Lynn and Dante’s child!
