Dressed For Success: Get The GH Nurses Ball Fashion Details

One of the biggest events of the General Hospital year, the Nurses Ball, is also its splashiest fashion moment. Between the glamorous red carpet looks and the diverse performance outfits, the show’s wardrobe department is kept plenty busy putting all the looks together. GH Costume Designer Shawn Reeves shared the designer details for the dresses, gowns and three-piece outfits that were ultimately selected for a wide array of Port Charles beauties for this year’s ball. Costume changes — and, often, ending up on stage in her underwear — have been the name of the game for Nurses Ball founder Lucy Coe since the inaugural event back in 1994. To pose for the paparazzi, Lynn Herring's alter ego "is wearing a one of a kind Nurses Ball T-shirt and a red ball gown that we made for her red carpet moment," Reeves shares.

Red carpet host Nina (Cynthia Watros) looked camera-ready even as she struggled to keep her cool when forced to share duties with her ex-lover Drew. Her beautiful dress (and its high slit) was designed by MacDuggal.

This is the first time Braedyn Bruner, who joined GH last year, has been in attendance at the ball, but her character, Emma, has been a mainstay at the event for many years. Her mother, Robin Scorpio-Drake, is forever associated with the ball as she bravely announced her own HIV-positive status on stage at the 1996 gala. Her orange dress is by Halston.

Shaking off the trauma of Nurses Balls past (remember when Nelle slashed her throat with a knife, rendering her unable to sing?) is Brook Lynn, played by Amanda Setton. All three parts of her black-and-white fringed outfit are by Rich Radi Q.

The ball is not only close to Carly's heart because her late mother, Bobbie Spencer, was a veteran GH nurse, but because it has for many years been held at her hotel, the Metro Court. Her icy blue number is by Chiara Boni.

Josslyn has also been attending the ball for many years, and has performed at it several times, as well. For this year's event, Eden McCoy's alter ego is clad in a sleek black gown accented by dramatic white flowers, which is by Helsi.

While Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) is a nurse, she's not exactly being celebrated by a lot of promiment Port Charles citizens at the moment, given that she's just gone public with her her controversial relationship with Congressman Drew Cain. She is certainly giving scarlet woman vibes in this plunging-neckline look from MacDuggal.

Looking like an angel in Black Halo, Tanisha Harper's Jordan made a breathtaking statement on the red carpet when she showed up on the arm of Jenz Sidwell. How stunning she looked did not escape the notice of Isaiah, either....

Alexa Havins's Lulu has been unable to attend the last several Nurses Balls, what with being in a coma at a long-term care facility and all. For her triumphant return to the red carpet, Reeves selected this embellished black gown by MacDuggal.

As co-owner of the Metro Court and a member of the Quartermaine family, Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) is right at home on the Nurses Ball red carpet. The label on her metallic, peacock-toned jacquard gown is Teri Jon by Rickie Freeman.

Trina (Tabyana Ali) is looking so stylish and sexy in two-toned pink, it's no wonder her beau, Kai, was so determined to make it to the ball to escort her. Sho is the designer.

The ball started out on a stressful note for Anna (Finola Hughes), the law enforcer whose dance skills have made her a hot commodity to perform ... but the number she's scheduled to perform also features Tracy, who was hauled off the red carpet in handcuffs. At least she looks great in her rhinestone and mesh Self Portrait gown.
