General Hospital: Who Will Tristan Roberts Be Paired With?
Daytime newcomer Dean Geyer made his debut as Tristan Roberts in the July 13 episode of General Hospital, and his prickly encounter with Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) on July 14th’s show had some fans speculating that the soap could be positioning him as her new love interest.
Tristan Roberts Makes Port Charles Debut
Dr. Tristan Roberts was first seen escorting Jason (Steve Burton) back to Port Charles after his incarceration in Jakarta at the hands of the WSB. He then headed to G.H., where the surgeon introduced himself as the hospital’s newest hire.
Speaking to TV Insider, Geyer gave some hints about his new character’s future in town. “He’s moving from, we don’t know where,” Geyer teased. “He just wants to fit in, and it seems like he wants to start a new life as if he’s experienced some sort of drama where he came from. That might give you a little bit of a hint that he may be coming with some sort of baggage.”
When Tristan attempted to move into his room at Bobbie’s, he ran afoul of Britt, who was furious that he was taking the room she felt she’d been wrongfully evicted from. Noted Geyer, “There’s a bit of friction between the two — and it’s always nice to start with a dramatic entrance.”
Who Could Tristan Roberts Be Paired With?
Going from enemies to lovers is a classic soap opera trope, and Tristan may well be poised for a future romance with Britt. Geyer told TV Insider that before booking the job, he did his chemistry read with her portrayer, Kelly Thiebaud — but she wasn’t the only actress GH tested him with.
His second read, the actor revealed, was with Eden McCoy (Josslyn), “and that was the one that booked me the role,” he added.
While Britt is not necessarily available — after all, Jason has just returned — Josslyn is very much romantically unattached.
Geyer also indicated that his character will be crossing paths with another single woman in Port Charles when he mentioned another castmate who helped him settle in at his new gig.
“Someone who’s really super, super sweet was Alexa [Havins, Lulu],” he shared. “She walked me through everything that can go wrong, how you should really approach day-to-day shooting and the amount of dialogue that you have to memorize.”
Lulu could use a jolt of happiness, having learned that the last man she was with, Cassius (Ryan Paevey), was an impostor posing as his late twin brother, Nathan West.
