General Hospital Recap: Will Willow Marry Drew After Learning That He Slept With Nina?
Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) wedding kicked off with a serious bang in the July 25 episode of General Hospital. After Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) emotional confession, Willow lashed out at her mother, then prepared to walk down the aisle. Would she really marry Drew, knowing everything she now knows? Plus, Lucas (Van Hansis) tore into Carly (Laura Wright), Marco (Adrian Anchondo) made a dangerous move, and Kristina (Kate Mansi) tried to steer Molly (Kristen Vaganos) away from Cody (Josh Kelly). This is getting messy!
Family Feud
Lucas followed Carly into her office to continue their argument, apologizing for stepping over the line by bringing up Morgan, but arguing that her loyalty to Sonny (Maurice Benard) has brought her nothing but pain. Carly continued defending her ex-husband and put all the blame on Sidwell, but Lucas declared that both men were equally bad. He insisted that all of Sonny’s good deeds don’t erase the blood on his hands, especially that of Julian, his own father. Carly countered that Julian attacked Sonny, so it was self-defense, and Lucas responded that they only had Sonny’s version of events. He added that Sonny kidnapping Marco had opened his eyes. He was appalled when Carly pointed out that Sonny could have killed Lucas’s new beau, but instead, he only abducted him. “Do you hear yourself?” Lucas shouted. “I should be grateful that Sonny didn’t kill Marco. That’s insane. And the fact that you can’t see it is just further proof that you have been living in Sonny’s world for way too long. And I… I refuse to be a part of it.” With that, Lucas stormed out, leaving Carly shaken and frustrated.

In Marco’s room, Sonny assured him that he would be fine as long as he stayed out of his father’s business. Sonny suggested that if Marco insisted on being Sidwell’s lawyer, he do it from Miami. Marco stood his ground, explaining that he was building a life in Port Charles that he didn’t want to abandon. Changing topics, Sonny asked if he really thought Sonny was responsible for Natalia’s death, and Marco admitted that while he initially blamed him for his mother’s passing, he knew it wasn’t that simple. Sonny then shared that Natalia had told him how much she loved her son and regretted their estrangement. Lucas arrived and was upset to see Sonny there. He warned his former brother-in-law that if he ever touched Marco again, he’d go straight to the police.
After Sonny left, Lucas urged Marco to add this interaction to his police statement and was surprised when Marco admitted he hadn’t told the cops what Sonny did. Though annoyed, Lucas agreed to respect his decision. Later, Sonny and Carly were discussing Lucas stirring up trouble when Carly’s brother arrived to hand over his keys. “I’m moving out,” he announced.
Lucy (Lynn Herring) checked on Sidwell (Carlo Rota) to see how he was doing after Natalia’s memorial and invited him to be her guest at Drew and Willow’s wedding, which she was officiating. Sidwell explained that he was distancing himself from the politics in Port Charles, and that included Congressman Cain. She made one last effort, but he again declined. After she exited, Marco arrived and informed his father he was all-in. “Whatever it takes,” he declared, “Sonny Corinthos needs to go.”

Getting Burned
At the Metro Court pool, Kristina worried that Ava and Ric would be attending the wedding together, but Cody assured her that he’d managed to cause some friction, and he should be able to seduce Ava away from Molly’s dad as she wanted. Cody then plopped himself down next to Molly by the water and teased her about being all covered up and reading War and Peace. When Molly uncovered, Cody got a little flustered, and when she offered him some of her SPF 100, he quickly spun around on his chaise so she could do his back.

Kristina was trying to reassure Michael (Rory Gibson) about Willow’s upcoming nuptials, but was distracted by Molly and Cody. She persuaded Michael to get Cody away to talk so she could swoop in and ask her sister what was going on. Kristina warned Molly that Cody had a reputation for seducing women for their money, and worried he might be taking advantage of her. Later, Kristina thanked Michael for his help, and he hoped one day she’d explain what she was up to. When Cody returned to Molly and asked her to touch up a spot on his back she’d missed, she eyed him warily.
Pre-Wedding Explosion
Drew arrived at the church with Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) and checked in with Liz (Rebecca Herbst) to tell her everything looked amazing. He was happy to see Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) until she shared her reservations about the union, at which point Liz dragged her off to remind her she had promised to be good. Ric (Rick Hearst) showed up and chatted with Liz, hoping to share a dance at the reception. Ava (Maura West) overheard this, and when Ric insisted he was just being friendly, she wasn’t buying it. She then asked Alexis for a meeting to discuss their “business” — without Ric in attendance.

Nina was desperate to talk to Willow before the ceremony, but was taken aback when her daughter immediately demanded to know if it was true that she’d had an affair with Drew. Breaking down in tears, Nina confessed she had, which left Willow feeling sick to her stomach. Trying to explain, Nina insisted that when they had first hooked up in April, she had no idea he was attracted to her daughter. But when Willow asked how long it went on, and Nina admitted until August, she was horrified by the idea that while she was falling in love with Drew, he was sleeping with her mother.
Nina tried to explain that she didn’t want to say anything for fear of ruining the mother/daughter relationship that they had finally established, but Willow didn’t understand why she kept sleeping with him. Nina promised she didn’t love Drew and that they actually hated each other. She wanted to try and save Willow and Michael’s marriage by taking Drew out of the picture, but when she saw how much she cared for Drew, she backed off. Horrified, Willow cried: “You watched as I threw away my marriage and my children for a man you knew was lying to me, and you said nothing?!”

Here Comes the Bride?
Nina reminded her daughter that she had tried to persuade her to leave Drew and repair her marriage to Michael until she got so defensive of Drew that she wouldn’t listen to reason. Willow pointed out that if she’d told her Drew had been sleeping with her, she would have dumped him immediately and never would have lost her children. Nina wanted to make things right, but Willow called her selfish and swore she’d never forgive her for making her lose custody of Wiley and Amelia. Nina begged her daughter not to destroy the relationship they’d built, but Willow declared it was built on lies. Shattered, she realized she’d sacrificed everything for Drew and now had nothing. Nina assured her she still had her mother, but Willow bitterly spat that she didn’t have a maternal bone in her body. “I envy Nelle,” she hissed. “She died never knowing you were her mother. I wish I had been so lucky!”
After kicking her mother out, Willow sat at the vanity and flashed back to her first kiss with Drew and recalling how their relationship developed to the point where she agreed to marry him in the hopes of regaining custody of her son and daughter. Out in the church, Lucy called for everyone to take their seats, but Nina told Obrecht she wanted to leave because there wasn’t going to be a wedding. Just then, Liz announced that the bride was ready, and Nina shook her head, confused. Scout walked down the aisle, scattering rose petals and getting a hug and kiss from her father at the altar. Then everyone rose as the wedding march began. After a pregnant pause, the doors finally opened, and Willow entered the church, looking lovely in her wedding gown. Drew smiled at his bride-to-be, but Willow’s face was inscrutable. Nina’s eyes widened as she wondered which way this was going to go.
