General Hospital Recap: Jason and Britt Break Up as Nina Realizes She’s a Suspect
On the Monday, September 14, episode of General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) called it quits; Josslyn (Eden McCoy) reported Anna (Finola Hughes) to Agent Baines (Alimi Ballard); Carly (Laura Wright) had a pitch for Hudson (Troy Lennon Appel); Nina (Cynthia Watros) realized she was a suspect in Jack’s (Chris McKenna) disappearance; Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) made a bold declaration, and more. Here’s everything that happened.
Breaking Up Is Hard to Do
Jason and Britt’s argument over Anna escalated at the boathouse. Jason believed Anna had been pushed to holding Britt at gunpoint because of the mental torture she’d endured while held captive at Wyndemere and accused Britt of not doing anything to help rescue her. Britt protested that she’d been a victim of Sidwell and Cullum, who had moved Anna before she could figure out a way to free her.
The couple was at an impasse since Jason didn’t believe Britt’s version of events. Furious that Jason was defending Anna instead of siding with her, Britt demanded to know if Jason would have helped Anna cover up the murder if he hadn’t gotten to Mount Emerson in time. Jason argued that Britt needed to believe Anna would have killed her to absolve her guilt, adding that he knew that Anna never would have gone through with it.
“You need to believe that,” Britt spat. “Otherwise, you’d have to admit that your friend is unhinged and dangerous. And she would have killed someone you say you love!” Devastated to realize that they don’t trust one another, Britt ended things with Jason.
Later, Jason tracked Carly down at the Metro Court and told her that he and Britt were done, admitting that he didn’t trust Britt the way he did Carly.
Doctor’s Orders
Following her first therapy session, Anna told Tristan that she was struggling with PTSD and wanted him, as a former operative, to consult on her case since she was hoping to avoid being admitted to a WSB facility for treatment.
Sharing that he’d once put bureau policy over the welfare of another person and refused to do so again, Tristan gave Anna a brief heart examination, officially making him her doctor so he couldn’t share any of her medical details with the WSB. Even though Anna didn’t need a cardiologist for her PTSD, Tristan offered his support if she ever needed it.
When Britt later arrived at G.H., Tristan asked if she needed medical attention after the incident with Anna. Britt flashed back to Anna shouting that she’d sat by while Cullum and Cassius tortured her, and her subsequent fight with Jason. Returning to the present, Britt denied anything had happened, telling Tristan that Anna must have made her account up.
On The Fence
Josslyn showed up at Anna’s condo hoping to speak with her. Wanting to protect her grandmother, Emma demanded that Josslyn leave. But Josslyn refused to back down, leading to a fight between the two. Once Anna returned and saw Josslyn there, she knew she couldn’t put off the conversation and sent Emma out on an errand.
Sharing that she’d heard Britt’s side of the story, Josslyn asked for Anna’s account. After Anna confided that she was suffering from PTSD, Josslyn shared that she’d been held captive in the same room, and seeing what Anna wrote on the wall gave her hope to get through it. Fighting back tears, Josslyn said that she didn’t want to contribute to the mental torture that Anna had already gone through. However, Anna insisted that Josslyn follow WSB protocol, which mandated that the bureau oversee the care of an agent who cracks.
Once Emma returned, Anna let her know that she and Josslyn had discussed Josslyn’s obligation to report what happened to the WSB, but Joss hadn’t yet made up her mind. Emma hoped that Josslyn wouldn’t report her.
Agents of Change
Agent Baines cornered Nina at the Metro Court Gardens to question her about Jack’s disappearance. At first, Nina thought that the WSB had sent Jack on assignment, so when Baines asked about their public argument and Nina’s threat to destroy Brennan, she admitted they were romantically involved and explained it away as a lovers’ spat.
When Baines revealed that the WSB hadn’t heard from Jack since that same night, Nina realized she was a suspect in his disappearance and declared she wouldn’t speak further without her lawyer present. Baines warned her not to leave town.
Later, Baines met with Josslyn, who informed him that Anna was seeking treatment from a civilian therapist after suffering a mental breakdown.
Wheeling and Dealing
Joss sent Hudson to Carly’s office to rent office space for JJE. He griped about his frustrations in working for Josslyn — and that his return date to Australia kept getting pushed back. Hudson thought it was time for someone else from JJE to come to Port Charles to assist Josslyn.
Believing that Hudson was a positive influence on her daughter, Carly proposed a deal just between them that would keep Hudson in town, and he agreed to consider the secret offer. Satisfied she might get her way, Carly decided Josslyn could have the suite above Nina’s space at Crimson, but added that it needed a full renovation, so she wanted Hudson to make sure the contractor was very loud.
Later, Hudson made a phone call and told the other person that he’d had an interesting conversation with Carly, and they would be pleased with how it turned out.
Family Time
Back from her trip to Savannah with Cody, Molly caught up with Alexis at the Metro Court Gardens. Alexis updated her daughter on how things had declined further between her and Drew. Scout approached their table, having given her babysitter the slip. Scout asked them to keep their visit a secret, and Alexis agreed not to tell Drew. Still, Molly fretted that Drew would lash out if he learned they’d been with Scout. Alexis declared that she was done trying to appease Drew.
Serena brought Outback to Cody at the stables after finding the dog near the nature preserve, giving the siblings a chance to get to know one another better. Just as Serena said she was glad to be back in Port Charles again, Mac and Felicia arrived to surprise Cody with dinner. Insisting that Serena join them, Mac and Felicia beamed that Dominique would have been happy to see her children together.
