General Hospital’s Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson Team Up for New Holiday Movie
General Hospital stars Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) and Steve Burton (Jason) have teamed up on a new project: Creating and starring in a holiday movie set to be produced by Zero Gravity Management, the production company behind the award-winning Netflix series Ozark.
Anderson and Burton to Star in New Holiday Film
Anderson and Burton have been developing the project over the past year with their partner, writer Stacy Asencio-Sutphen. While the movie’s title and storyline details are being kept under wraps for now, a press release describes the film as a “holiday whodunit” and notes that the film will blend “quick-witted comedy, holiday romance, and a playful whodunit [as it] follows two unlikely partners as they stumble into a mystery in a charming small town at Christmas.”
In a statement, Anderson said, “We have the best fans in the world, and the constant question we ask ourselves is, ‘What more can we do to entertain them?’ When we came up with this idea for a series of holiday films, we knew we had something special.”
The movie was conceived as the first in a franchise, with plans to release a new lighthearted romantic mystery each year. Casting is currently underway for the two female leads who will star opposite Anderson and Burton, while financing and distribution are being arranged.
Burton made his GH debut as Jason Morgan (then-Quartermaine) back in 1991, while Anderson joined the cast as Damian Spinelli in 2006. The contrast between the stoic Jason and the hyperactive Spinelli on GH created a partnership that became a fan favorite.
The actors built off that on-screen chemistry, and as Stone Cold & The Jackal (Spinelli’s nicknames for himself and Jason), the duo tours across the country to perform music and comedy for fans. Since 2018, they have also hosted the podcast That’s Awesome With Steve and Bradford, where they discuss life, General Hospital, and interview special guests.
