General Hospital: How Are Cody and Serena Related?
Cody Bell’s (Josh Kelly) family on General Hospital is expanding further now that Serena Baldwin (Kelly Kruger) is back in town. But how, exactly, are the pair related?
How Are Cody and Serena Brother and Sister on GH?
Cody arrived in Port Charles in 2022 already knowing that the late Dominique Stanton (Shell Danielson) was his biological mother. He had been given up for adoption and raised by the Bell family, and he initially believed Leopold Taub — Dominique’s abusive first husband — was his biological father. A DNA test later revealed that Mac Scorpio (John J. York) was actually his biological father, giving him a slew of new relatives on his Scorpio side, including stepmom Felicia (Kristina Wagner), stepsister Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and second cousin Emma (Braedyn Bruner).
As for Serena, her biological parents are Dominique and Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), making Cody her maternal half brother.
In 1993, Dominique was newly married to Scott when she learned she was dying from an inoperable brain tumor. Her fondest wish was to give her husband a child before she passed away, so Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) stepped in to carry the child as a surrogate. Sadly, Dominique died before Serena was born.
Scott left town with Serena not long after her birth, but Serena and Lucy reconnected on the GH spinoff Port Charles, which ran from 1997-2003, and in 2000, Scott formally asked Lucy to adopt Serena. She was overjoyed to do so.
Until Cody’s introduction as an adult, neither Mac nor Scott ever knew that Dominique had secretly given birth to a son, much less that the boy was sired by Mac.
Serena has several half siblings through Scott — Karen Wexler (Marie Wilson), Logan Hayes (Josh Duhon) and Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) — but all of them have died, making Cody her only living biological half sibling.
Serena, who has been globetrotting in her many years away from Port Charles, arrived back in her hometown in July 2026, and on the Tuesday, August 11 episode, she and Cody met for the first time. It was a friendly encounter, but what kind of sibling relationship they will forge remains to be seen.
