General Hospital Recap: Michael Dumps Jacinda and Willow Demands Full Custody
The Tuesday, August 11, episode of General Hospital was full of intense moments. Michael (Rory Gibson) sent Jacinda (Paige Herschell) away for drugging Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), Jack (Chris McKenna) found Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) new job offer suspicious, Jordan (Tanisha Harper) had a business proposal for Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), Emma’s (Braedyn Bruner) relationship with Gio (Giovanni Mazza) began to fracture, and Cody (Josh Kelly) met his sister, Serena (Kelly Kruger). Here’s how it all went down.
The Last Straw
A groggy Willow woke up on the couch at Nina’s to find her mom hovering over her, unable to remember all the details of what had happened the night before. Nina explained that Michael had been there when she got home and was concerned by Willow’s erratic behavior. Willow realized that she must have been drugged — likely by Jacinda.
Certain that Michael was behind it, a furious Willow vowed to get full custody of Wiley and Amelia once and for all. With the offending coffee cup nowhere to be found, Willow decided to go to G.H. for a blood tes to connect the incident to Michael. Pointing out that the drugging came after Willow slapped a restraining order on Jacinda, Nina unsuccessfully tried to convince her daughter to broker peace with Michael rather than constantly retaliating against each other.
Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
In the Quartermaine kitchen, Jacinda was horrified when Michael revealed that Wiley and Amelia had been with Willow the night before and, thanks to Jacinda, she’d almost gotten behind the wheel while high on molly with the kids in the car. Although Michael understood that Jacinda never meant to harm his kids, he suspected Willow would soon figure out Jacinda had drugged her and accuse him of masterminding the plan.
While Michael had gotten rid of the evidence by taking the coffee cup, he was desperate to keep his kids and told Jacinda that his only option was for them to break up and for Jacinda to leave town. Both heartbroken, Michael and Jacinda shared an emotional goodbye as he gifted her money to start a new life.
Shortly after, Gio entered the kitchen to find a somber Michael. Michael sighed to Gio that things were not good and he had a feeling they were going to get worse. Sure enough, Willow stormed into the kitchen and declared that she was taking full custody of the children — immediately.
Job Options
Over breakfast at the Metro Court Gardens, Josslyn informed Jack that she was ready for her next assignment, but he didn’t think she was mentally ready to return to the field and wanted to keep her in the office. Not happy with that answer, Josslyn said maybe she should take her dad up on his offer to run JJE, since Jax wanted her out of the WSB.
Finding it odd that Jax handed his corporation over to his daughter with zero discussion beforehand, Jack decided to look into it despite Josslyn’s contention that it was just family drama. Later, Nina summoned Jack to her condo. She told him she was worried that Willow was going to escalate the custody battle with Michael and wanted his help to stop it before it destroyed her family.
Business Casual
Valentin met with Jordan to ask for a favor, since he’d saved her life. Jordan was surprised and grateful to learn that Valentin had helped Curtis pull her from the car the night of the accident. He wanted her opinion on which of Sidwell’s holdings to bid on once they went up for auction. Jordan advised him to target his cargo shops or a phone software company that was about to blow up. Valentin pressed for more tips, and Jordan told him to make her an offer to become a paid consultant and she’d decide if it was worth her time.
The Distance Between Us
With flowers in hand, Cody showed up at the courthouse to congratulate Molly on Sidwell going to Pentonville. A disappointed Molly moaned that she’d given up her book tour for nothing because Sidwell had accepted a last-minute plea deal, so she hadn’t even gone to trial for what was supposed to be the biggest case of her career. Insisting it was still a win, Cody suggested they celebrate with a day at the pool.
At the pool, Emma surprised Gio with plans for a camping trip, but because of his busy music schedule, he couldn’t go away with her. Although disappointed, Emma put on a good front as the supportive girlfriend. When Gio added that he had to rehearse with Trina after his lifeguard shift, Emma began to realize how much his music career was affecting their relationship.
Across the deck, Serena told Lucy that she didn’t think Michael was trying to take Deception away, so it wasn’t necessary to get his shares. Unconvinced, Lucy was insistent that Michael would always side with his family (and was sure Tracy would push her out at the first chance), so she wanted to stick to the plan.
When Cody and Molly arrived, Lucy introduced Serena to her brother, and the siblings made plans to hang out and get to know one another. Later, Cody confided to Molly that he’d expected not to like Serena because he’d been bitter that she was Dominique’s sole heir while their mother hadn’t left him any money. He added that Molly had helped him to realize he should focus on what he did have, rather than what he didn’t.
