Did General Hospital Just Reveal That Brook Lynn Drove Jordan Off the Road?
When Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) were in a car crash on General Hospital last week, the immediate question was whether they would survive. But just as pressing was another mystery: who forced Jordan to swerve off the road in the first place?
Carly (Laura Wright) was quick to accuse Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) of being responsible, as their car had also crashed that evening. But several other characters were established to have been on the same stretch of road, namely Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson), who was driving to Lulu’s (Alexa Havins) to secretly tend to Rocco’s (Finn Carr) infected hand, and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), who was racing to the reopening party at Charlie’s Pub in hopes of catching Gio’s (Giovanni Mazza) performance. Isaiah was acting a bit skittish later that night — and so, too, was Brook Lynn, who seemed very out of sorts when she got to the pub. Then, in the April 13 episode of GH, a flashback seemed to indicate Brook Lynn was indeed the guilty party!
One Dark Night
At the end of the April 7 show, Curtis had distracted Jordan momentarily with a kiss, and when her eyes returned to the road, another car was heading straight for them. The oncoming headlights flooded the vehicle as Jordan cried out and yanked the steering wheel to avoid a collision. After they crashed on the side of the road, Curtis was barely able to get Jordan free before the car exploded, and later kept quiet about the fact that he’d received aid from the fugitive Valentin (James Patrick Stuart).
Earlier in that episode, Brook Lynn had been drinking wine with Lucy (Lynn Herring) as they discussed Deception business, and after her co-worker left, she received a call from Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) alerting her to the fact that their son, Gio, was going to be play guitar at Charlie’s open mic might. Brook Lynn quickly polished off her drink and headed out, the camera zooming in ominously on the empty glass.

Memory Lane
In the April 13 episode, Brook Lynn was at home, happily preparing for the arrival of baby Phoebe, who she and hubby Chase (Josh Swickard) were fostering. But as the Quartermaines toasted to the new addition and Brook Lynn took a sip of champagne, she suddenly flashed back to leaving her empty glass on the drink cart the night of the crash.
Later, as Tracy (Jane Elliot) and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) playfully teased Gio about not inviting them to his performance, Michael (Rory Gibson) remarked that the reopening had gone great, adding that he felt bad that Trina (Tabyana Ali) couldn’t bask in her successful performance after getting word that Curtis and Jordan had been in an accident on Route 91.
“Yeah, I took the accident report from Curtis,” Chase shared. “It was a pretty bad crash. Seemed like Jordan swerved right off the road.” As everyone discussed the incident, Brook Lynn’s face fell and their voices faded into the distance. She flashed back to driving down the dark road, a smile on her face, when suddenly, oncoming headlights shined in her eyes! Brook Lynn recalled frantically honking her horn before screaming and veering out of the way while slamming on the brakes. She came out of her flashback looking shaken and horrified.
Mystery Solved?
The implications of Brook Lynn’s flashbacks are devastating. If she was the driver who caused the incident that nearly killed Jordan, it could have serious personal consequences — not least of which is her ability to move forward as a foster parent to Phoebe. That she was clearly drinking before getting behind the wheel only raises the stakes further. And if Brook Lynn doesn’t come clean with Chase and instead hides the truth from her husband, the cop, that could create a whole host of problems in her marriage.
Unlike a private mistake, this is the kind of incident that likely won’t stay buried for long. Not only is the PCPD on the case, but Curtis has made it clear that he plans to investigate what happened that night, determined to bring the person responsible to justice.
At the same time, GH is still leaving itself room to maneuver. While Brook Lynn clearly thinks the crash was her fault, that may be a red herring. Perhaps it really was Isaiah, or perhaps Danny and Charlotte fully lied about their own car troubles that night. Or perhaps the show has a twist planned that has yet to even be hinted at!
