Roslyn Gentle enters the DAYS scene, while Chad Duell’s Daytime Emmy-winning GH run comes to an end.

Check out COMINGS and GOINGS for January 27, 2025 here.

Who’s Coming

Bold and Beautiful

Ted King (Jack Finnegan): Li (Naomi Matsuda) has reignited the question of who her niece Luna’s (Lisa Yamada) biological father is — and confronted her sister, Poppy (Romy Park), about whether Poppy’s pregnancy was the result of an illicit hook-up between Poppy and Jack, Li’s estranged husband. Now, it’s time for her to question the man himself. Jack, who King began playing in July 2021, last appeared in July 2024. Of his return, King wrote on his official Instagram, “So grateful Jack is back! A lot of mayhem will ensue on your screens over the next few days. Happy we were able to shoot these scenes before the recent Los Angeles catastrophes.” For more about King’s comeback, click here.

Days of our Lives

Roslyn Gentle (Woman in White): The actress is new to the show but is she playing the Woman in White, aka Rachel Blake, Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) mother, who haunted Aremid and supposedly died in 1996 or simply a woman in white? The character of Rachel was played by Pat Delaney from 1995-96. If Gentle looks familiar, you may know her from her recurring roles as a juror on American Crime Story and Mrs. Fitzhubert on Picnic at Hanging Rock, as well as recent appearances as Judge Linda Franklin on Y&R in 2023 and on S.W.A.T. in 2024. Enthused Gentle on Instagram, “Entering the DOOL world.. but who am I? watch and see.. coming January 24th.” Haiduk commented, “Welcome!!!!!❤️❤️❤️

Shi Ne Nielson (Amy Choi): Look for Ava (Tamara Braun) to get caught in the middle during an argument between Sophia (Madelyn Kientz) and her controlling mother.

Finley Rose Slater (Rachel Black): The young girl, who has run away from home, will be the one to encounter the woman in white — and if that woman is the character who last appeared in 1996, That would make her Rachel’s grandmother and, of course, the inspiration for her name. Check out what Eric Martsolf (Brady) has to say about his character’s trouble-making daughter here.

Derek Yates (Kerry Yeomans): Javi (Al Calderon) got an earful from Leo (Greg Rikaart) who was finally able to prove that Kerry is Lady Whistleblower. Expect the fallout for Kerry to continue this week.

General Hospital

Stephen A. Smith (Brick): Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) associate is back on the Port Charles scene this week, and will share scenes with multiple characters — including Jordan (Tanisha Harper), with whom he started flirting last year. What will Brick’s presence mean for her potential romance with Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson)?

Young and Restless

Ray Wise (Ian Ward): Ian will be narrowing his focus this week as he torments Mariah (Camryn Grimes).

Colleen Zenk (Aunt Jordan): It’s a rough week for Jordan as she allows her Achilles heel, Claire (Hayley Erin), to gain her trust and by the end of the week she will be backed into a corner by Claire’s grandfather, Victor (Eric Braeden)!

Who’s Going

General Hospital

Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos): Fans have known this day was coming since Daytime Emmy-winner Duell announced in November 2024 that he had decided to exit the show: barring a last-minute preemption, the actor puts in his last GH appearance on Tuesday, January 21. Duell’s Port Charles debut took place on April 10, 2010, after he was tapped to succeed Drew Garrett in the pivotal role of Carly’s (Laura Wright) firstborn. In breaking the news of his impending departure, Duell shared on Instagram, “After many incredible years with General Hospital, I’ve decided to step away from the show. This wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life. I’m beyond grateful to [Executive Producer] Frank Valentini, the cast, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who have been like family to me throughout this amazing journey. To all the fans: thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering support and for letting Michael Corinthos be a part of your lives.” Valentini said in a post to X (formerly Twitter) shortly after Duell’s announcement, “There are no plans to recast his role at this time, but you never know in daytime.”

In Memoriam

David Lynch, the visionary writer/director who co-created, wrote and directed Twin Peaks, died on January 15 at the age of 78. Lynch appeared in Twin Peaks, which ran on ABC from 1990-91 and had a 2017 revival on HBO, in the role of FBI Deputy Director Gordon Cole. Series star Kyle MacLachlan (Dale Cooper) posted a touching homage to Lynch on Instagram, writing, “I owe my entire career, and life really, to his vision….Our friendship blossomed on Blue Velvet and then Twin Peaks and I always found him to be the most authentically alive person I’d ever met…. While the world has lost a remarkable artist, I’ve lost a dear friend who imagined a future for me and allowed me to travel in worlds I could never have conceived on my own.” Ian Buchanan (ex-Duke Lavery, GH et al), who played Dick Tremayne on Twin Peaks, wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “A Very Sad Day. Dear David.” Buchanan told Soap Opera Digest in 2020 that what stood out about his time on the groundbreaking prime-time soap was Lynch himself. “He particularly still stands out… I had a very interesting relationship with him. He only ever calls me by character names. The first time I worked with him, I did a Calvin Klein Obsession campaign with Lara Flynn Boyle [ex-Donna, TP] and that’s when he asked if I wanted to play a Dick and I said, ‘Sure!’ ”

Francisco San Martin, who originated the role of Dario Hernandez on DAYS in 2011 and played Mateo on B&B in 2017, died by suicide on January 16. The actor also had a recurring role as Fabian on Jane the Virgin and played Backstage Flirt on Behind the Candelabra.

Real-Life Status

Another Loss: On his official Bluesky account, Eric Braeden (Victor) confirmed, when he was asked about her by a follower, that on-screen daughter Amelia Heinle (Victoria) also lost her home to the L.A. fires saying, “The extent of this disaster is unimaginable!”

Health Report: Colin Egglesfield (ex-Joshua Madden, All My Children) who has twice battled testicular cancer, shared on social media that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The actor wrote, “This is another opportunity to decide who I choose to be in the face of uncertainty and challenges in my most recent cancer diagnosis. Thankfully, we caught my prostate cancer early and after a year of doing a lot of research and talking to quite a few health care professionals, I elected to be proactive and have surgery.” He went on express his gratitude for the support and care he had received at the City of Hope Cancer Center in Phoenix, AZ, adding, “and thank you to everyone else who has supported me and extended your well wishes! I feel it and each day I’m getting healthier and stronger. I’m still a bit sore but I’m making progress and am determined to come back stronger and healthier than ever especially with the help of my sexy walker :).”

Brotherly Love: Vinessa Antoine (ex-Jordan Ashford, GH) posted that she was searching for her brother, who had been missing for a month, and a few days later told her followers on Instagram that he had been located. She began her message with the following words: “The good news? He’s alive. I’m processing the rest. Thank you to everyone who posted and messaged me. The rest if up to G-D. I believe there is a bigger plan.” In the caption next to it she wrote, “Hold space and grace for families struggling with mental health and addiction. ❤️ We will press on and keep praying for my bro. No more searching but I will never give up hope.” She updated it one more time with a video of him cooking saying, “He’s good. Like…really kind. Deep inside. Hidden behind this mysterious, scary, dark world of addiction. I don’t understand it. But i’m learning. You are loved bro. We’re here when you’re ready.” Several of Antoine’s friends in the daytime community commented to express their relief, including Finola Hughes (Anna, GH), who wrote, “I am so glad Vinessa.
