The Bold and the Beautiful: Who Is Deke’s Mother? Becky Moore’s Tragic Life Explained
Deke — formerly known as Little Eric — returned to The Bold and the Beautiful all grown up and played by Harrison Cone in September 2025 and was reunited with his father, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), half sister Hope (Annika Noelle) and the rest of his Los Angeles-based family. Conspicuously absent was his mother, Becky Moore. The character was played by Marissa Tait from April 1999 until June 2000, when Becky met a tragic fate. Here’s everything you need to know about Deke’s late mother.
Oh, Baby
Unsure of who fathered her unborn child — wealthy hubby Rick Forrester (Jacob Young, then Justin Torkildsen) or one-night stand Raymond — Amber (Adrienne Frantz) retreated to her hometown of Furnace Creek to give birth. Sadly, her baby boy was stillborn on April 23, 1999. But as fate would have it, Amber’s cousin, Becky Moore, was also pregnant. The dad was no longer in the picture, and Becky planned to give her child up for adoption. On April 27, 1999, Becky gave birth to a son.
Amber’s mother, the ambitious and crafty Tawny (Andrea Evans), knew that Rick had only married Amber because she was with child. Determined to ensure that Amber remained Mrs. Forrester, she persuaded her daughter to pass off Becky’s baby as the Forrester heir and talked midwife Sarah into secretly handing the boy over. Becky, meanwhile, thought he had landed with a deserving couple who were strangers to her. Tawny and Amber then buried Amber’s stillborn son in the desert, and Sarah provided Amber with a phony birth certificate to sign for “her” son. Amber and Rick named him Eric Forrester III, also known as Little Eric.

On June 28, Becky arrived in L.A. to visit Amber and “her” baby. A quick-thinking Tawny realized that the infant’s tell-tale birthmark could blow the ruse, so they kept Becky at a distance and persuaded the Forresters to offer her a job in Paris. When Becky discovered the birthmark while changing Little Eric’s diaper on August 26, she was stunned. She called Sarah, who confessed the whole sordid story.
Becky fled with the child and hid out at a motel. Amber located her and convinced Becky that she and Rick would give the boy a much better life than Becky ever could. Becky reluctantly allowed Amber to leave with Little Eric, and she moved to Paris in September. However, she still ached for her child and wrote Amber demanding photos.
Clearing the Air
In Paris, Becky had a chance encounter with Raymond, who filled her in on how Rick hadn’t married Amber for love — in fact, he’d actually been involved with another woman, Kimberly Fairchild (Ashley Tesero), but called things off due to Amber’s pregnancy. Becky began to question whether Little Eric was truly being raised in a stable home environment, and after confiding in a co-worker about her dilemma, she decided to head to Venice, Italy, where Amber and Rick had taken the baby.
Amber wasn’t thrilled about Becky’s surprise visit, but she agreed to let Becky spend time with Little Eric while Rick was out of their hotel room. It was then that Becky realized she could not bear to be separated from her child anymore. She forced Amber to come clean about Little Eric’s true identity with Rick, and on January 27, 2000, she finally did. Rick was hurt and angry and despite a remorseful Amber’s pleas for forgiveness, he dumped her on the spot.
Becky was going to take her son back to Paris, but Rick wanted to be close to the child, who he had been raising as his own for months. He arranged for Becky’s job to be transferred to L.A. so that he could stay close to Little Eric. Once settled back in California, Becky fell for Rick’s best bud, C.J. Garrison (Mick Cain).
Father’s Day
Becky and C.J.’s love story was soon cut tragically short because Becky was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She and C.J. wed on June 9, and Becky died on June 23. After her passing, C.J. was given custody of Little Eric. C.J. and Amber began raising the boy together and fell in love, so in November, a jealous Rick tracked down Little Eric’s biological father, Deacon Sharpe, who successfully sued for custody and renamed his son “Little D.”
