The Bold and the Beautiful: Steffy’s Pregnant — What Happens Now?
Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) had her worst fears confirmed when she learned she was pregnant on The Bold and the Beautiful. The home pregnancy test she took in the September 10 episode left her shaken to the core and terrified about her future.
Steffy’s Pregnancy Changes Everything
Steffy felt nauseous following a dinner party with Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Daphne (Murielle Hilaire), so in the morning, Steffy went out and bought a pregnancy test. She hid her purchase from Finn (Tanner Novlan) and once her husband left for work, finally took it. Steffy tried to keep her nerves under control as she paced around the kitchen waiting for the results, insisting to herself, “I can’t be pregnant!” But when the timer went off and Steffy looked at the stick, her eyes widened in horror. “Oh my God,” she cried. “I’m pregnant!”
As soon as Steffy had that drunken one-night stand with Carter, fans suspected that a pregnancy was in the cards, especially given Carter’s current struggle to have a baby with his wife, Daphne. “They are setting this up nicely,” @FalconYourHero predicted on X (formerly Twitter) before the reveal. “Steffy is definitely pregnant with Carter’s baby. I wonder if #JackofAllTrades Doctor Finn will deliver it!🙄😂”
Steffy and Carter had agreed not to tell their spouses about their drunken dalliance, but a pregnancy is going to be difficult to conceal. However, Daphne and Carter recently began considering surrogacy as an alternative way of starting their family, and it would be a classically soapy twist if Steffy offered to be a surrogate for the couple, and, with a little due date fudging, convince Daphne that the baby she is carrying is Daphne and Carter’s biological child.
While that might save Steffy and Carter from having to reveal their big secret, it could come with its own complications. How would Steffy feel about letting Daphne raise her biological child? Would she really be able to remain on the sidelines of her child’s life?
Of course, there are other dramatic possibilities the show could explore. While B&B showed Carter and Steffy waking up together naked after their night together, the show did not actually depict them having sex. So perhaps Steffy and Finn didn’t actually do the deed, and Finn is the father. That could make things rather messy if Steffy didn’t realize until after she volunteered to carry a baby for Carter and Daphne.
Whatever direction the storyline goes in, the fallout is sure to be spectacular — and long-lasting. As Executive Producer/Head Writer Bradley Bell teased in the B&B Fall Preview, “You know how long secrets last. Sometimes in soaps, they can go from days to months to years, and we’ll see how that rolls out in [this story in] the months and years ahead.”
