ICYMI Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe, DAYS) Interview

Nadia Bjorlin’s Chloe suddenly surfaces to help Ciara and company in their quest to find the missing Ben. “All the Salemites come to New York and want to talk to Chloe about Eve — where she’s been, what’s going on with her. They’re all looking for her,” explains the actress. “Chloe is the one with all the information.”

Bjorlin, not so much. “I just remember all the dialogue and thinking, ‘What am I talking about?’ And trying to wrap my head around it,” chuckles Bjorlin. “Because I’d been off the show, I was filling in story that I hadn’t been there for.”

And “story” that the audience hasn’t seen, either. Namely, that Chloe’s long- time friendship with Eve has gone awry in recent months. “Chloe’s like, ‘That bitch has lost her mind. She’s crazy. We don’t really speak to each other anymore. She’s gone off the deep end,’ ” says Bjorlin, adding that Chloe also gives them some pertinent information about Eve’s new pal, Vincent. “What he did for a living, where he worked … Then everybody puts the pieces together and figures out where he [and Eve] might be.”

Bjorlin, whose Chloe exited Salem in August 2019, didn’t really feel like she’d been away from DAYS for that long. “I kept coming back for a few episodes here and there,” she says. “Then I did the DOOL App thing [“Last Blast Reunion”]…. DAYS is one of those places where it doesn’t matter how much time has elapsed, when you walk through those doors it’s like you never left. That’s a nice thing. You always feel like you belong. It’s like a good friend you haven’t talked to for a while, but you pick up exactly where you left off. That’s how it feels working there.”

In between her Salem stints, Bjorlin also appeared in the second season of the web series BEACON HILL, produced and directed by Crystal Chappell (ex-Carly, DAYS et al), plus she and her family moved. “We moved into a new house last October,” shares Bjorlin, referring to herself, husband Grant Turnbull and their two sons, Torin, 4, and Viggo, who turns 3 in September. “It’s in a great area and good for kids.” The family of four has been spending the bulk of their time there since the pandemic, and Bjorlin’s grateful for this special time with her boys. “Watching them grow, seeing how quickly their little personalities evolve every day,” she reflects. “It’s been nice really having time to sit with them and paint or play with Play-Doh and be creative and just hang out.”

However, that will eventually change because at the beginning of 2020, Bjorlin was approached about returning to DAYS on contract. “Now, that’s on hold,” she explains. “We don’t have a start date yet. But I was given a vague [forecast]. I was told, ‘You’ll probably be working with Jay Johnson [ex-Philip].’ I was like, ‘Oh, that’s amazing.’ We grew up together on the show. Just watching those flashbacks when we were doing the app — we were such babies. I’m really excited to go back to the show.”
