General Hospital Recap: Willow Thinks Michael Set Her Up, Sidwell Turns the Tables on Drew and More
Things were heating up in the October 14 episode of General Hospital! Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) protested their arrests, Drew (Cameron Mathison) found himself under Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) thumb, Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) issued a warning to Michael (Rory Gibson) and Carly (Laura Wright), and Ava (Maura West) and Kristina (Kate Mansi) buried the hatchet as Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) suspected something was up with Ric’s (Rick Hearst) disappearance. Keep reading to find out how it all went down!
The Best Laid Plans
Outback was sniffing around a cellar entrance when Liz joined the dog and went inside. Finding Ric bound and gagged, Liz untied him, but when he tried to express his gratitude with a kiss, his rescuer turned into Kristina, ordering him to “wake up.” Ric opened his eyes and was dismayed to find that he’d just been dreaming — he was still tied up in Alexis’s basement.
Kristina fed him a shake and gloated that tomorrow, they’d have all the money he stole back. Ric couldn’t believe she got away with attempted murder and kidnapping, and Ava even helped. “After all these years, you and your sanctimonious mother were oh so quick to judge me from your lofty perch of Mount Superiority,” he spat. “Well, look at you now, down in the mud with the rest of us. How does it feel, Kristina? To know you’re no better than I am?” Kristina felt bad about cutting his brakes, but vowed she’d never sink that low again. Ric wondered how Molly would react to her actions, and Kristina reminded him of his own wrongdoings before quickly gagging him again.

After a frantic Nina called her from the police station, Ava — who was at Alexis’s law office — asked Marco to represent her friend, given her regular attorney was… “tied up” at the moment. After he left, Alexis remarked on looking forward to this long nightmare finally ending when they restored the money to the Cassadine trust. She also hoped that they could all put their animosity behind them and finally move forward. As Alexis was constantly refreshing the web page, waiting for he transfer of funds confirmation, Ava complained about having to resort to blackmail to get back her divorce settlement and admitted maybe she’d gotten a little greedy. When Kristina joined them with an update on Ric, Ava handed her the key to the lockup containing the evidence of her crime, even though the money hadn’t yet gone through. She agreed it was time for the feud to end, and the two women both offered sincere apologies before agreeing a handshake was more appropriate than a hug.
Cody approached Molly at Bobbie’s, and she made small talk about Outback before asking him about lariats. She deflected his curiosity about the question by explaining she was doing research, but her attempt to change the subject by asking about Cody’s rodeo experience was interrupted when she got a call. Later, Liz joined Molly to fill her in on Willow’s arrest. Molly couldn’t give her any more information because she wasn’t involved in Drew’s case, but Liz was more interested in finding Ric so he could help Willow. Molly sighed that she still hasn’t heard from her dad, and both of them found his disappearance suspicious. Meanwhile, Cody followed Outback to the cellar door, where the dog started barking, and inside, Ric tried to cry out through his ball gag.

Double Cross
Martin stopped by Drew’s house to report that the PCPD had made an arrest. A thrilled Drew gloated about how he wished he could’ve seen Michael in cuffs, but Martin revealed it was actually Willow who was taken in. He didn’t know what they had on her, but reminded Drew that it wouldn’t be easy to get her out on charges of attempting to murder a congressman. Drew didn’t want to hear it and rushed him off to represent Willow, then placed an urgent call.
Later, Sidwell arrived and feigned concern as Drew complained that Willow had been arrested instead of Michael. Drew declared he knew Jenz paid off Judge Heran, and wanted him to make it look like Michael paid off the judge and killed her to keep it quiet, and after that, came after him. Sidwell thought it was a good plan, but it was too late, because the police already thought Drew had bribed the judge after finding the paperwork in his safe. Drew called that ridiculous, but Sidwell insisted there was nothing he could do. Drew suddenly realized Sonny had framed him, which gave Michael yet another reason to shoot him so they’d find the receipt in his possession. Drew then accused Sidwell of offing the judge, and Jenz laughed before warning Drew to watch his step because he had evidence tying him to numerous crimes. Drew was furious that Sidwell had set him up, and Jenz assured him that as long as he did what he was told, he’d be fine. “From now on, you work for me,” he informed the congressman. “Step out of line and watch as your life goes to hell.”

Wrong Place, Wrong Time
Sonny and Carly showed up at the Quartermaine mansion to tell Michael that Nina got arrested. Michael shared with his parents that Willow had been taken into custody during their supervised visit with the kids. When Sonny wondered if he knew that was going to happen, Michael claimed ignorance and also offense that his father thought he’d plan something like that. Carly worried about Wiley and Amelia, and Michael assured them that they had calmed down when they got home. Sonny wanted to know what evidence the cops had, but Michael didn’t care because Drew’s shooting had nothing to do with them; his priority remained his kids.
Diane arrived and updated everyone that Willow and Nina’s alibi was falling apart, and Edward Quartermaine’s gun was found in Willow’s room at Liz’s house. The attorney wondered how she got her hands on the weapon, and when Sonny said he found it unlikely that Willow took the gun when she moved out months ago, Michael reminded them they don’t know when she might have absconded with the weapon. Sonny believed the gun was planted, and wondered if anyone had been to Liz’s home recently. When he glanced at Carly, she snarked that if he wanted an answer, he’d have to marry her.

When pressed by Diane, Carly admitted that she had gone to see Liz and claimed they’d been together the whole time. Sonny and Diane both called her out, so she confessed that Liz had left her alone (when she’d gone upstairs to take a call from her plumber). Still, Carly insisted she didn’t plant the gun. Diane turned to Michael, who admitted he went to Liz’s to talk to Willow about seeing the kids, and he had also been left unattended. Hearing this happened after the police tried to search the Quartermaine estate, Diane frowned that Martin could prove reasonable doubt by showing that both of them had motive to shoot Drew and opportunity to frame Willow. The lawyer didn’t know what their next steps would be yet, but warned, “Willow might be the one under arrest, but Michael and Carly’s problems are just beginning.”
Getting to the Truth
When Willow was brought into the police station, Nina was horrified to learn that her daughter had been arrested in front of Wiley and Amelia and lashed out at Justine, accusing the ADA of working for Sonny and the Corinthos family and insisting Michael should be the one arrested. Marco arrived and explained he couldn’t represent both mother and daughter. Nina was insisting he take care of Willow when Martin arrived to assist Willow, much to Nina’s relief.
Justine then showed Marco and his client the security footage showing that Nina was in her apartment during the time of Drew’s shooting. The attorney pointed out that this proved her innocence, but Justine added that Nina was charged with conspiracy because they believe she and Willow planned Drew’s shooting. She noted Nina’s affair with Drew and accusing him of causing Willow to lose custody of her children before mentioning her litany of past crimes, including stealing Ava’s newborn baby. Nina insisted her daughter was not a killer, and Justine retorted, “In my experience, some mothers will do anything to protect their children.” Later, Nina pleaded with Marco to come up with a way to explain that the footage was altered, but he said if she wanted to save her daughter, she should tell the truth.

In the interrogation room, Willow asserted to Dante that she loved Drew and would never shoot him. Dante suggested she contact her lawyer. Willow didn’t know where Ric was and complained about being arrested in front of her children. Martin joined them and informed Willow that Drew had sent him before asking Dante for privacy with his client. Once they were alone, Martin explained to Willow that they matched the bullets from Drew’s shooting to Edward Quartermaine’s gun, which had been found in her room at Liz’s house. She was stunned and insisted that was impossible. Martin assured her that Drew didn’t think she shot him and promised he’d try to push for an immediate hearing to get her out of here as soon as possible.
Elsewhere at the station, Chase was upset to learn that Willow had been arrested in front of the kids, and Dante assured him that Michael had been there to take care of them. The detective also cautioned Chase to keep his distance, lest his feelings for Willow compromise the case. After Martin left the interrogation room, Chase asked Justine to let him give Willow an update on her kids, and she agreed. Dante was surprised, but Justine confided that Willow might be more likely to confess to someone she’s close to. Asked if he trusted Chase to tell him if Willow said anything to him, Dante told Justine he did. They watched through the window as Chase assured Willow that Wiley and Amelia were fine and to hang in there. She tearfully informed him she knew what was happening. “I can’t believe he would do something like this to me,” she cried. “But Michael set me up. He planted that gun!”
