General Hospital Recap: Tracy Makes A Discovery At Drew’s, Nathan And Lulu Get Snowed In And More
A blizzard continued to cover Port Charles in snow on the January 28 episode of General Hospital, but that didn’t keep some folks from staying warm at home! Portia (Brook Kerr) attempted to make things right with Trina (Tabyana Ali), Josslyn (Eden McCoy) did some quick thinking at Wyndemere, and Gio (Giovanni Mazza) and Emma (Braedyn Bruener) hit a roadblock. Meanwhile, Tracy (Jane Elliot) got into another fight with Martin (Michael E. Knight) despite their truce, Lulu (Alexa Havins) recruited Nathan (Ryan Paevey) to help hunt down Charlotte (Bluesy Burke), and Carly (Laura Wright) talked Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) off the ledge when he worried about his daughter being out during the snowstorm. Check out what happened:
Apology Tour
Knowing her daughter wouldn’t turn her away during the snowstorm, Portia showed up at Trina’s apartment, determined to speak with her. Although she indulged her mother’s request for tea and cookies, Trina didn’t want to hear what Portia had to say and declared she was headed to her room. Portia then told Trina that she didn’t have to listen, but to say what was on her mind, so Trina went off, raging against her mother for cheating, getting pregnant, and letting Curtis think the baby was his when she didn’t actually know who the father was.
Portia countered that she and Curtis had problems in their marriage from the start because they were incapable of handling conflict between them, so when Drew began blackmailing her, she kept it to herself rather than fight with Curtis. On top of that, she continued, Curtis and Jordan were getting closer, and it became clear that he felt more comfortable confiding in his former wife than he did her. When Trina replied that Jordan and Curtis were just friends, Portia huffed that the other woman was constantly undermining her marriage. Annoyed that her mother was trying to blame her father, Trina spat that cheating was her M.O.: first on Taggert, the man she’d called her dad, and then on her actual biological dad. Portia claimed that both times, her infidelity was a symptom of her marriage falling apart, but Trina further criticized her mom for being a liar who’d only come clean about her affair with Isaiah because she’d been forced to reveal it in court.

To that, Portia stated that she never intended to lie about the baby and planned to have a paternity test, only for Trina to accuse her of stalling on that front. Tearfully, Portia revealed that she tried her best to give Trina a stable home, but she didn’t think Curtis would have wanted a child back then because he’d wanted nothing to do with her when he found out she was married. Trina snarked that now they’d never know because of the choices Portia had made, but she began to soften when her mom said that while she hoped Trina never made the same mistakes she had, she wouldn’t love her any less if she did. Then, Portia apologized for disappointing Trina and asked her daughter if she could love her anyway.
Search Party
Lulu had to get Rocco from his community service at G.H. and called Nathan to meet her there. Explaining that Charlotte had taken off and had probably gone to check on her horse, Lulu asked him for a ride to the stables since her car wasn’t good in the snow, and Dante and Laura were tied up with emergency management. Charlotte had turned off the tracker feature on her phone and wasn’t responding to calls or texts, and the stable wasn’t answering their phone, either. Nathan told Lulu that he was happy to return the favor after Lulu had helped him with James.
His shift done, Rocco met up with his mom, who was troubled that he hadn’t heard from his sister, either. He wanted to tag along with Nathan and Lulu to look for Charlotte, but they dropped him off at the Quartermaines’ instead so he wouldn’t be alone during the storm. Later, after a tree nearly hit his car, Nathan and Lulu ended up at Bad Jen Café. He knew the owner, Nathan explained, and Jen wouldn’t mind that he jimmied the lock so they could wait out the storm in the café.

Waiting Game
Carly shared with Valentin that Charlotte had taken off from the Metro Court restaurant and was probably headed to see him. But as time passed, Valentin worried why it was taking so long for Charlotte to arrive. They figured that Charlotte would be coming through the woods from the Quartermaines’, but then he worried that she might get lost in the dark, snowy night, and wanted to go out to find her. Talking him down, Carly urged Valentin to be patient, telling him that she knew exactly how awful it was not to be able to do anything when your child was in danger (her mind on Josslyn working for the WSB). She reminded him that he’d once told her that when there’s no direct action to take to solve a problem, sometimes you just had to endure the fact that your kid’s in danger. Valentin deadpanned that it was really annoying when Carly actually listened to him. To pass the time, Carly challenged him to a game of checkers, and he quipped that he had a feeling she was a cheater.

Trust Fall
After ditching Lulu at the Metro Court, Charlotte turned up at the Quartermaine house. She told Danny that since her mom thought she was checking on her horse, Butterscotch, the snowstorm was the perfect cover for her to see her dad. As she told Danny about the conversation she’d overheard between Nina and Jack Brennan, Charlotte became upset that Nina had manipulated her. Danny understood that Nina would want to protect her daughter, Willow, but Charlotte cried that she’d been Nina’s daughter for a while, too, and the three of them had been a family. Because Nina was one of the few people her dad trusted, she needed to tell her father that Nina had sold them out.
Even though Nina hadn’t wanted details after Charlotte had shared with her that Valentin had reached out, she wondered if her former stepmother had been reporting back to Brennan all along. Charlotte was adamant about trekking through the snowstorm to get to Carly’s, but Danny wouldn’t let her go by herself and told her that he knew how hard it was to be let down by someone you cared about and he’d never do that to her. He let her borrow Brook Lynn’s coat and boots, but when a shelter-in-place alert came through on his phone, Danny suggested they wait until the storm let up before they set out, since the roads were closed and Valentin was safe for the time being.

Later, Rocco walked into the den looking for Danny and spotted Charlotte’s sneakers and scarf by the fireplace, which she’d left there to dry off from the snow.
Power Play
After cutting the power to Spoon Island, Josslyn broke into Wyndemere. She began looking around in the dark with a flashlight, but when she heard a noise, Joss turned off the flashlight and hid in the foyer, gun drawn. She was shocked to see Director Cullum placing candles throughout the living room and flashed back to the conversation she’d overheard between Cullum and Jack on the docks. Pretending to have just arrived at the house, Josslyn called out for “Uncle Lucas” and feigned surprise to see someone in the living room. Cullum demanded to know who she was and what she was doing there. Introducing herself as Lucas’s niece, Josslyn rattled on that she was on her way to a nearby island when the wind picked up, so she went to Wyndemere instead, expecting Lucas to be home, but the place was deserted. As Cullum replied that the power was out, Josslyn flashed back to detonating an explosion at the grid to cause the blackout. Back in the present, Cullum explained that the residents went to the mainland to wait out the storm and introduced himself as Matthew, the caretaker. He said he stayed behind to deal with any damage from the storm and protect the property from intruders, since the security system was down. At that, Josslyn chuckled, “Intruders? Who would want to break in here in this weather?” Cullum replied, “Who, indeed.”

After he got her settled on the couch with a blanket, Cullum asked why Josslyn had traveled out in the snow, and she spun a tale about friends from school having a blizzard party on nearby Porter Island, but it ended up being too dangerous for her to sail there. Offering her a glass of brandy, Cullum said he wanted to get to know her better, and Joss explained that she’d lived in Port Charles her entire life, which unfortunately wasn’t very exciting. “What you see is what you get,” she proclaimed with a fake smile. “Now why do I find that hard to believe?” he responded.
Good Intentions
Back at Anna’s condo, Emma and Gio changed into warmer clothes to assist Tracy with her heist. Gio didn’t have gloves, and Emma worried he’d get frostbite and not be able to play the violin again, so she loaned him a pair of ski gloves. Finally, they headed out to meet Tracy but returned home shortly afterwards because Drew’s street was shut down. With cell service spotty, they couldn’t get in touch with Tracy to let her know they wouldn’t make it. With little else to do, Gio and Emma began making out on the couch.

Squatter’s Rights
Using her key, Tracy entered Drew’s house and came face-to-face with Martin, who was munching on a bowl of popcorn. After she called him a squatter, they bickered over how she’d lied about seeing Michael the night of Drew’s shooting, the anonymous letter Martin sent Alexis, how he’d committed fraud by forging Monica’s will, and that she’d taken Scout’s key. Martin continued to annoy her as Tracy waited for her “associates” (Emma and Gio) to arrive, and she finally shouted that she was there to retrieve her belongings. Pushing back, Martin said he wasn’t going to sit back while she ferreted around, taking whatever caught her eye, but Tracy insisted she was only trying to right a wrong. “And you’re doing it under the cover of darkness in the middle of a blizzard,” he scoffed.
Then, Martin accused Tracy of having no compassion for Drew following his stroke, and she argued that if she had no compassion, she would have left Drew to bleed out on the floor after he was shot, the way Drew had left when Ned had a heart attack. Although he didn’t condone what Drew did to Ned, Martin said it didn’t change the fact that he was lying helpless in the hospital. Tracy blustered that she didn’t care and again insisted she was going to collect her heirlooms that night. When Martin pointed out that it wasn’t happening since the roads were impassable, he offered to let Tracy stay — if she asked him nicely.

Did Cullum buy Josslyn’s cover story, or does he know exactly who she is? Do you think waiting out the storm at Bad Jen Café will be a turning point for Lulu and Nathan’s friendship?
