General Hospital Recap: Michael Blackmails Willow, Curtis Learns His Fate and Anna Sets a Trap For Britt
The Thursday, August 13, episode of General Hospital was packed with blackmail, threats, and hostile encounters! While Michael (Rory Gibson) turned the tables on Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), Jordan (Tanisha Harper) lashed out at Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) after Curtis (Donnell Turner) was found guilty, Anna (Finola Hughes) baited Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) had a standoff with Hudson (Troy Lennon Appel). Here’s how everything went down.
One Smart Cookie
When Willow arrived at the Quartermaine house to collect Wiley and Amelia, Michael confronted her with proof that she tried to kill Drew: signed affidavits from Kai and Trina that they were at the house that night. Willow tried to bluff her way out of the accusation, but when Michael noted that double jeopardy didn’t apply to family court and threatened to expose her crime, she angrily grabbed the rolling pin on the island from the kids’ cookie-baking session.
After blocking her from hitting him, Michael offered to let Willow be a part of the kids’ lives and keep their current custody arrangement so long as she moved into the gatehouse. Knowing she had no other recourse, Willow bitterly agreed.
Guilty As Charged
Martin, Molly, Curtis, Jordan, Isaiah, Portia, Trina, and Kai converged at the courtroom to hear that the jury found Curtis guilty of assaulting Isaiah. Curtis and Jordan were crushed when the judge sentenced him to ten years in Pentonville with the possibility of parole after two years.
Martin secured Curtis 48 hours before he had to report to prison, and planned to file an appeal for his client. Curtis shared a tearful goodbye with Trina, and Jordan promised that she’d wait for him.
Portia returned home and shared the news of the verdict with Stella and Marshall, who’d been watching Des. Curtis arrived shortly after, and as he had a tender goodbye with the baby, Portia promised Marshall that she’d help Curtis find his way back to his son when the day came.
Following the sentencing, Isaiah and Jordan both ended up at the Metro Court Gardens, the site of the assault. Jordan claimed that Isaiah had gotten everything he wanted, but an offended Isaiah insisted he’d only wanted justice, not to wreck Curtis’s life. Jordan retorted that he had to know he couldn’t get one without the other.
Death Trap
At the pool, Britt caught up with Rocco, who vented about how overprotective and smothering his parents have been since he returned home. Rocco was elated when Britt shared that she was going to live, as her Huntington’s diagnosis had been a lie crafted by Cullum. Britt gently pointed out that Rocco had unintentionally hurt his parents when he’d gone on the run with her. She advised him to give his parents some time, and they’d ease up.
Emma lamented to Anna about the limited time she and Gio have had lately and her fear that they would drift apart. In between glancing over to the towel stand where Britt was speaking with Rocco, Anna offered her granddaughter advice on how the couple could make their busy schedules work. Peter materialized to warn Anna not to let Britt destroy her close relationship with her granddaughter, and Anna decided to get Emma out of town by suggesting she and Gio go on a weekend getaway.
Later, Anna approached Britt and offered to look into what happened to Cassius. Stating that her investigation had to be on the down-low, Anna insisted they meet in person if she discovered anything. Commending Anna for setting the bait, Peter instructed her to trap Britt at a discreet location to eliminate her once and for all.
Job Hunter
Josslyn had a salty encounter with Hudson, who wanted an answer about who she was picking to run JJE. Refusing to be rushed into a decision, Josslyn ordered Hudson to back off. He countered that the company was beginning to break down with no one at the helm, so they resolved that Hudson would shorten the list of potential CEO candidates for her to select from.
I Spy
With her father headed to prison, Trina began second-guessing her decision to go no contact with her parents, lamenting that she had wasted valuable time. Kai assured her that she’d made the right call for herself at the time. As Trina channeled her frustration into her songwriting, Kai left Trina alone at Bobbie’s so she could focus. But unbeknownst to Trina, someone clocked Kai leaving, then spied on her through the diner’s window…
