General Hospital Recap: Anna Confesses to Jason as Chase Rats Out Brook Lynn to Willow

Comments

The Wednesday, September 9, episode of General Hospital brought the drama between Anna (Finola Hughes,) Jason (Steve Burton), Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) and Anna’s vision of Peter (Wes Ramsey) to an intense climax. Meanwhile, Chase (Josh Swickard) sought solace from Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), Ned (Wally Kurth) counseled Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), Trina (Tabyana Ali) delivered some major news to Portia (Brook Kerr) and Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson), Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Hudson (Troy Lennon Appel) butted heads, and more. Here’s everything that happened.

Point and Shoot

As Anna held Jason and Britt at gunpoint, Jason begged Anna to put down the weapon. Anna began speaking to someone who wasn’t there, confusing her hostages, who didn’t realize she was addressing her hallucination of Peter. “You’re just like your father,” Anna hissed. “I’m not!” cried Britt.

“I won’t let you beat me!” roared Anna as she fired her gun. Britt screamed and Jason dove to cover her. But Anna was not actually aiming for Britt — she was aiming at Peter, desperate to get him out of her head.

Jason took the weapon from a shaken Anna and ordered Britt to flee. Anna collapsed in Jason’s arms.

Once she collected herself, Anna admitted that she’d been seeing visions of Peter since France and said she was glad Jason had stopped her before she did something she couldn’t take back. Jason theorized that the hallucinations were Anna manifesting her worst fears about Faison but was sure Anna never would have pulled the trigger to kill Britt. Promising that he’d return later to clean up, Jason took Anna home.

She’s Come Undone

Hudson wanted Josslyn to move to Australia, where she could fully commit to running JJE. She refused, and he accused her of not wanting to leave the WSB. After repeating her cover story that she was on leave from the bureau, Josslyn turned the tables on Hudson and brought up his thin personnel file, questioning why he was so invested in a company he’d only been working for for a few months.

Hudson explained away the gap in his resume, and before Josslyn could press him further, a disheveled Britt showed up and demanded to speak with Joss. Hudson left, and Britt demanded that Josslyn put her in touch with Brennan, explaining that Anna was unhinged and had just tried to kill her. Josslyn said that Jack was unavailable and was skeptical of Britt’s account about Anna — until Britt mentioned that Jason had also been there. Joss invited Britt to spend the night and texted Jason to get the full story.

Lean On Me

With his life flipped upside down, Chase ended up at the gatehouse. He confided in Willow that not only was Brook Lynn the other driver who fled the scene of Jordan’s car accident, but she’d been the one to frame Willow. He apologized for not telling Willow about the framing weeks ago; he’d stayed silent because he felt partly to blame due to Brook Lynn’s insecurities over the time he and Willow were spending together.

Chase apologized for unloading on Willow, but she said she was returning the favor after all the times Chase had been there for her. Determined to handle the situation on his own, Chase thanked Willow for listening as he left. Hudson spied Chase exiting the gatehouse.

Crisis Mode

Gio vented to Emma about how angry he was that Brook Lynn had kept her involvement in Jordan’s accident a secret for months. Emma urged him not to push away the mother he only just recently found and let Trina make her own decision about having Brook Lynn as a manager. Realizing that he couldn’t ignore her forever, Gio was determined to get answers from Brook Lynn.

Later, Jason brought Anna home. Emma was confused when he said he’d like to return later to spend the night. Once they were alone, Anna told Emma that she hasn’t been as well as she’d let on and that she’d nearly killed Britt. Emma was unsettled by her grandmother’s confession.

Meanwhile, Jason cleaned up the site at Mount Emerson and examined one of the bullet casings he’d found on the ground.

Family Trait

Brook Lynn came clean with Ned about the night of the accident and framing Willow. Ned correctly assumed that Tracy had helped Brook Lynn with her scheme and they discussed how the Quartermaines have a habit of lying and covering things up to protect other family members — like when Ned took the blame for A.J. following the car accident that caused Jason’s brain injury.

Brook Lynn wondered if her marriage was over. Ned pointed out that while Chase was angry and disappointed, that didn’t mean he didn’t love her. Ned stepped out when Gio arrived to speak with his mother.

Gio wanted to know if the reason Brook Lynn didn’t stop that night because she’d been rushing to see him at Charlie’s Pub that night, but she insisted she hadn’t known there had been an accident. Phoebe then started crying, so Brook Lynn went to get the baby and asked Gio to stay so they could finish talking. As Brook Lynn got Phoebe settled in the bassinet, Gio watched with a look of longing as his mother fussed over his little sister.

Answered Questions

Trina and Kai informed Portia and Isaiah that Brook Lynn was the other driver on Route 91 the night of the accident. Trina hissed that Curtis never would have hit Isaiah if Brook Lynn had just come forward, but Portia argued that Curtis was responsible for his own actions. Trina apologized to Isaiah for believing that her father might have been right in blaming him, and Isaiah thanked Trina for getting the truth out of Brook Lynn.

On their way out of the hospital, Trina wondered to Kai if the truth would make Curtis feel better or worse. She also told Kai that she wanted nothing more to do with Brook Lynn and would not be moving forward with her music career. Meanwhile, Isaiah told Portia that he was glad to finally have answers but wasn’t sure it would change anything between him and Curtis.
