General Hospital: How Ethan Lovett Connects to Other Characters in Port Charles
Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons) is returning to General Hospital in April, and while some of his key connections are no longer in town — his father, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary), passed away in 2021, and his mother, Holly Sutton (Emma Samms), is now living far away with Robert (Tristan Rogers) — he still has plenty of ties in Port Charles. Here’s a breakdown of how he fits into the canvas.
Lulu Spencer
It was a shock to Lulu’s system when she found out that Ethan was her half brother … especially since she had flirted with the guy (and even kissed him!) before knowing they were related. But Lulu was quick to embrace her new sibling and worked to get her brother, Lucky, to accept him into the family, too. She participated in the mission to rescue Ethan from Frank Smith in 2015, the last time she saw her brother in the flesh. When he comes back to town, it will be Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Ethan’s first opportunity to process the loss of Luke together, as Lulu was in a coma when their dad passed away.
Tracy Quartermaine
When Ethan first came to Port Charles, Tracy suspected that her husband, Luke, was his father, so she Tracy tampered with the paternity test results to try to keep the truth from coming out (which it eventually did). Tracy became a protective stepmother and sought to keep Ethan out of trouble. In 2010, Ethan and Maya Ward (Tracy’s grandniece) accompanied Luke and Tracy to Las Vegas, where they intended to tie the knot, as Tracy had learned that their first marriage was invalid. But when drunken shenanigans ensued, Ethan and Maya ended up married, though the union ended in divorce. During Ethan’s last appearance in 2023, Tracy joined Felicia (Kristina Wagner) and Holly in helping rescue him from some dangerous people in Venezuela.
Kristina Corinthos-Davis
Ethan and Kristina (Kate Mansi) have quite a complicated relationship. As a teen, she developed a massive crush on the older Ethan, which did not go unnoticed by her bad-tempered boyfriend, Kiefer Bauer. Kiefer confronted Kristina after eavesdropping on her talking about Ethan and beat her up. Ethan found her wandering around the park in a daze in the aftermath of Kiefer’s assault and took her to the hospital, but when pushed to identify her assailant, Kristina panicked and claimed it was Ethan! Luckily for Ethan, Kristina’s mom, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), was able to convince her mobster dad, Sonny (Maurice Benard), from retaliating with physical violence. Ethan’s name was eventually cleared. Once her ordeal with Kiefer was behind her, Kristina continued to harbor the hopes of a romance with Ethan and her feelings were hurt when she realized he only saw her as a kid. Kristina is now all grown up, and in recent years, all of her romantic entanglements have been with women. Will seeing Ethan again stir up old feelings?
Laura Collins
Laura’s (Genie Francis) marriage to Luke had been over for quite some time when Ethan showed up in his life, but his very existence was proof that Luke had not been faithful to his beloved during their first union. Laura was living in France during Ethan’s 2009-12 residency in Port Charles, but they met for the first time in 2013 under very dramatic circumstances. Lulu had been kidnapped, and Luke and Laura believed that Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) was holding her hostage aboard The Haunted Star. Expecting to find Lulu there, Laura and Luke were stunned when they found a bound-and-gagged Ethan instead. Laura was shaken by the sight of her ex’s illegitimate son, but they exchanged polite introductions. The trio was briefly locked up together in the stateroom by Helena’s goons, and when they came face-to-face with the villainess, Helena challenged Laura to save Lulu by shooting Ethan or Luke. (Luke wound up shooting Helena instead.) Then, in 2015, Ethan was kidnapped by Frank Smith’s goons, and Laura joined Luke and Holly in the effort to rescue him.
Carly Spencer
Carly (Laura Wright) is Ethan’s cousin, as his pop, Luke, was brother to Carly’s late mother, Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman).
Michael Corinthos
As Carly is Ethan’s cousin, so her son, Michael (Rory Gibson), is his second cousin, as are Carly’s daughters, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Donna (Scarlett Spears). But Michael and Ethan are further because Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) — Holly and Robert’s daughter — is Ethan’s half sister, making Ethan uncle to Michael and Sasha’s daughter, Daisy.
Rocco Falconeri and Charlotte Cassadine
Rocco (Finn Carr) and Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) are Lulu’s kids, and Ethan is their uncle — though neither teen has ever met him on-screen.
Sonny Corinthos
Kristina’s protective father threatened Ethan to stay away from his daughter, and when he believed that Ethan was responsible for beating up Kristina, he went into vengeful overdrive and, despite Luke’s efforts to talk him down, swore revenge. Sonny took out a hit on Ethan, but called it off once Kristina recanted her accusations against him.
Alexis Davis
Kristina’s mom was also wary of her daughter’s interest in the older Ethan, but after Kristina left for Yale University, she hired him to serve as the groundskeeper at Wyndemere.
Elizabeth Webber
Head nurse Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) knew Ethan in his early days in Port Charles, and supported Lucky through coming to accept Ethan as his brother — but she had a healthy suspicion of the guy, considering that he had first come to town in cahoots with Rebecca Shaw (Natalia Livingston) to bamboozle Nikolas. Her son Aiden, who she shares with Lucky, is Ethan’s nephew.
Olivia Falconeri
In 2020, Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) traveled to Monte Carlo with Robert, looking for information regarding Holly’s whereabouts. She was stunned to encounter Ethan in a casino, and he revealed he was hunting for his mother’s killer. Olivia shared Robert’s suspicion that Holly wasn’t really dead, and the two men teamed up to get to the bottom of things. Though they were led to believe that Holly was deceased, it was later revealed that was a lie.
Felicia Scorpio
Although Felicia (who is married to Robert’s brother) isn’t technically Ethan’s aunt because Holly lied when she claimed Robert was his father, she still helped Holly search for her missing son and caught up with her pal in Venezuela to rescue him.
