Comings and Goings: The Latest Cast Changes As Of February 17

Making Change: Jonathan Jackson (l.) takes a short break as GH’s Lucky; Melissa Reeves visits DAYS as Jennifer; and GH’s Jon Lindstrom (Kevin) joins BTG.
Who’s Coming
Beyond the Gates
Karen Huger (TBA): The Real Housewives of Potomac star is set to make a special appearance on the new soap. She has also appeared as herself on an episode of Project Runway back in 2022.
Jon Lindstrom (Joey Armstrong): On Sunday came the announcement that the beloved General Hospital star, is joining the new soap as casino owner Joey. The actor has a long history with the series’ creator/head writer/showrunner, Michele Val Jean, who formerly wrote for his Port Charles alter egos, Kevin and Ryan. What this means for the character he still plays on GH, Kevin, who is married to the town’s mayor, Laura (Genie Francis), has yet to be determined. On X (formerly Twitter), Lindstrom enthused about his new gig, “I know, I’ve been quiet lately, but it’s not bcuz [sic] I wanted to be. I’ve been keeping a low profile as I commute to the wonderful world of @BeyondTheGates created by my brilliant dear friend @MicheleValJean. Personally I think this show is going to blow the roof off daytime & I could not be more proud to make even a small contribution to this ground-breaker. I get to portray #JoeyArmstrong. Call him an ‘entrepreneur’ … unless you owe him money. Joey owns a casino and, much like me, one thing he doesn’t like is debt. Difference being I won’t take your hand off if you owe me $10.”
Cady McClain (Pamela Curtis): The multiple Daytime Emmy-winning actress was announced as joining the brand-new Atlanta-based show. She is well-known to soap fans for her work as All My Children‘s Dixie Cooney Martin, As The World Turns‘s Rosanna Cabot, Young and Restless‘s Kelly Andrews and Days of Our Lives‘s Jennifer Horton Devereaux. On Instagram, McClain wrote, “I’m so proud to be a part of this fantastic, groundbreaking show written by the one and only Michele Val Jean,” adding, “Set your alarms, calendars, DVR’s, VHS machines and whatever else you got going on, and DO NOT MISS THIS FUN SHOW!”
Nischelle Turner (TBA): The Entertainment Tonight c0-host has snagged a cameo on the new CBS soap.
Bold and Beautiful
Christian Weissmann (Remy Pryce): Electra’s (Laneya Grace) stalker is back on the Los Angles scene. He supposedly was caught by the cops back when Will (Crw Morrow) rescued Electra from him in early January of this year.
Days of our Lives

Ros Gentle (Rachel Blake): Gentle’s Woman in White will be seen again this week as Aremid remains a hotbed of activity for a few Salemites. Check out an exclusive interview with the actress about her experience on the show here.
Hank Northrop (TBD): It was announced last week that the son of GH’s Lynn Herring (Lucy; ex-Lisanne, DAYS) and the late Wayne Northrop (ex-Roman/Alex, DAYS et al) will be joining the show in an undisclosed role and is set to debut later this year.

Jeff Kober (Cyrus Renault): Pressure mounts this week for Martin’s (Michael E. Knight) brother as more eyes are on him in connection with the murders of Dex (Evan Hofer) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) and the attempt on Michael’s (Chad Duell) life.
Lydia Look (Selina Wu): Brad’s (Parry Shen) mobster aunt will be back in the thick of things. Will she be interacting with Congressman Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) again?

Young and Restless
Valarie Pettiford (Amy Lewis): Amy will be in for a surprise from her son Damian (Jermaine Rivers) this week — and she will also be the recipient of Nate’s (Sean Dominic) protective instincts.

Industry News
Inside Look: Five half-hour episodes of Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood will air this week at 2 p.m. ET each day to introduce viewers to the new CBS soap that debuts next Monday, February 24. The five-part special will be hosted by Entertainment Tonight co-host Kevin Frazier and former The Talk co-host and longtime soap fan Sheryl Underwood. Encore episodes of Bold and Beautiful will follow.
Daytime Emmy Change: TV Insider reports that the Daytime Emmy Awards will be introducing a new category called Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series. In 2024, the category honoring younger actors, Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series, was retired. Rachel Schwartz, Head of Daytime and Children & Family Emmy Awards, told the site that the new category is “specifically for people who are on their first daytime contract, so there is not necessarily an age parameter with it. Although, I do imagine that some of the people that enter into the category will be on the younger end of the spectrum.” The next awards ceremony will be in October.
The Write Stuff: The 2025 Writers Guild Awards bestowed Best Daytime Drama honors on Young and Restless, beating out the writing teams of DAYS and GH. (B&B did not submit itself for consideration.)
End Of An Era: ABC has sold the historic building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side that previously housed the studio of One Life to Live. For more details, click here.
